Smash Journeyman
The direct changes to Palutena were very minor: reduction in after-delay of tilt attacks, but the changes to the overall game significantly affected Palutena.
The buff: removal of vectoring.
Without vectoring, holding down while being flung up in the air does not reduce travel distance. The same is true with downward kills: holding up while being pushed straight downwards does not reduce travel distance. That means vertical kills are that much more potent.
Palutena's most reliable kill moves? Yup, up-air and down-air. Her down-air almost always spikes when landed. Her up-air combined with a down throw that is easily combo'd into means that the 1.0.4 patch makes Palutena's killing potential significantly more reliable.
This is perhaps the reason why Palutena was mostly left unchanged this patch. The removal of vectoring in the game significantly makes Palutena stronger by nature. Thoughts?
