The competitive scene hampers enjoyment for me.
Smash was never intended to be a competitive game. The more people try to bend and twist it to be one. The more it shows it isn't.
Melee is a prime example. You are just exploiting the flaws in an outdated engine to do things it was not really intended to do. Breaking the characters down to the point that you kinda kill the enjoyment of the game for casual players.
I feel the same way about Pokemon "nucklocks"
