She reminds me alot of Mermother. I would've preferred Alola and later Gens just be repped through PokeBalls.

I googled what that was, which lead me to google Yo Kai Watch 2.... why were the regional release dates so split?

Couldn't say. Level-5 has always been slow when it comes to localization and I don't know why.
Decidueye is second on my Starters list from Alola. Followed by Incineroar being my least favorite by a mile.
