Punch Out would make a good movie. And Metroid would be PERFECT for Live-Action, Ridley already looks Live-Action looking.

yeah, I personally would go for instead of animation or live action, all sorts of art styles depending on the series. for example:
Mario: 3D animation
Zelda: live action with Creatures (animatronic puppets)
Metroid: live action with CGI
Kirby: 2D animation
EarthBound: claymation
Punch-Out: full live action
you get what I'm saying? it would make a Smash movie pretty hard but I feel they could pull it off.

HA! Earthbound is a claymation. You are a genius. Star Fox would probs be an animation similar to Zootopia. Would be hard to make animation to Live action (maybe the other way around). Unless they pull a Song of the South and Mary Poppins.
