I really have been away a long time. (Also, is there a plotline summary of the current arc? Feels like it'd take forever to catch up on the current comics.)

How far back are you on the series? Probably hard to do a proper summary when a lot of newer characters are involved; and considering this ‘arc’ has been so long it’s split into 8 arcs on the site directory.
Basically: They’re finally going back to the temple; mainly due to Keene wanting to tap the mana pool for his own grand ambitions. Things went south as expected. Plenty of antics ensue.

I haven't touched the comic in about 4 years, to give you an idea. Though I started dipping into it previously because the side-arc of "they're in a cosmic D&D game" was actually a bit funny.

Yeah, that whole ‘cosmic D&D game’ is actually such a huge focal point and matters for 90% of the story progression.
