Sans is kind of a super lazy guy, and he's also a caring guy especially towards Papyrus. I guess the Genocide art with him being regretful over the player comes from the "I was secretly hoping we could be friends" thing he says during the battle.

Sans in Smash would be pretty crazy, all his attacks would be multihits that deal 1% per hit =V

I heard a rumor that Nintendo approached Toby Fox about porting Undertale to one of their systems. Not sure if there's any salt to that or of anything came of it.
