I think everything surrounding SpongeBob in the modern day feels like I'm watching history get written in real time, if that makes sense? I've done way too much research into the cultural footprint of Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera, classic Disney, even the relatively recent Simpsons, and a lot of modern SpongeBob history feels essentially like retreads of a lot of that classic weird Looney Tunes history.
