This unlocked a core memory for me
I live in a crappy city for weather and it had stormed on Halloween, so instead of trick-or-treating we went to the mall. There were a lot of trick-or-treaters there, I guess someone had heard that the mall would be giving out candy for them or something? Well either way they weren't, so kids' parents were just buying candy, and we couldn't afford much I guess so my dad told me to choose between the Mario 3-Dees or Cookies n' Cream Kit Kats. Chose the Mario gummies and they were pretty good but I joke you not there were only four whole gummies in that bag.
EDIT: Oh no i remember, we were gonna go trick or treating the next day instead (we had to do that a lot cause of the weather so it was normal for our neighbors). I don't think the choice had to do with our financial situation at least not that much
