One idea that springs to mind is that it could be fun to see his own take on Bowser's Castle being more like a set - mostly made of cardboard and designed in such a way as to really play on his association with youthfulness and creativity. Hell, a giant statue of Bowser Jr. made of paper mache would be a great addition with that in mind.
