People only think about Light because it's an opposite to Dark, but Dark isn't dark as we know it. The Dark Type is supposed to be the "Evil" type, really. And while I suppose Light could still work as the anti-"Evil" Type, we already have the Fighting Type as its opposite, working as a sort of "justice" or "hero" type.
And besides, as we now have an even 18 Types, I feel like adding any more is just... too much.
