This is only tangentially related but it feels like all of those games take place in some big "multiversal tournament everyone's from different dimensions and **** and fighting" event. But then in terms of character design it seems like you've only got like "Medieval Guy, Steampunk Guy, Modern Guy, Future Guy." and the like. And I feel like that kinda squanders the potential of the concept by just using it as an excuse to shove a bunch of characters that wouldn't really fit together in the same world together instead of really going all in with the potential for character design.
