Nah, birds are not real sorry. Why, because it would hurt my feelings if they were.

Anything is real if you will it to be so. What is reality, from the perspective of the individual, but what they can sense with their own bodies? Of course, the senses have limitations. Where you may see the colours of red and blue, I may see ultraviolet and infrared, the endless and infinite web of radio transmissions above my head. What are birds but an extension of the great lie, of the semi-solid slab of meat within your cranium trying to piece everything together and understand what's going on outside? The human body is more of a closed system than people typically understand, and thus I respond with an allegory to Plato's Cave: birds are only real if you understand them to be real. If you have no exposure to birds, the concept of a bird is not real to you. Even with exposure, it is reasonable to say they do not exist. There is no truly subjective point of reference given our own point of reference on the matter is so specific, and thus I end off with the simple answer of maybe.
