I don't know if this helps but, there is a certain timing, but it's hard to explain. You just need to try out different timings and try to close in on the right one. It should feel like one fluent motion and you need to have it in you fingers, because there's obvoiusly not enough time to think...

I'm trying to get version 1,02 so i can use it for 20xx hack pack. I used an ntsc iso that i've tested in dolphin. I also tried converting to other versions just to check, but that didn't work either.

You still won't be able to play as the same colour in dittos, so i don't think that will be a problem. And if you're concerned about some alts looking too much alike you can just change your own colour.
