Welp, now that more fighters are confirmed to be coming i suppose that Paper Mario has a chance again! Man, it's been a while since i've been excited for Smash DLC.

According to this interview it seems that DLC is gonna be third party only. Add that to the fact that more evidence seems to point out that spirits do deconfirm characters and we get a broken dream. Time to rip the band-aid off, guys. Paper Mario is deconfirmed.

The fact that Paper Mario was gonna be in the best Smash game ever (yes, i said it, fight me) but then it got shut down because some staff wanted to work on their dumb melee clone hurts me even to this day

The sad thing about that moveset is that it wouldn't be possible in Ultimate, as the roster (and by extension, the movesets) was decided on 2015, and Color Splash released on 2016. I really have to try to make another Paper Mario moveset to see if i can finally give him a cohesive moveset, but...

Don't know how to feel about paint being the main gimmick, but i sure know that you used it perfectly, representing 4 games with it. I like it! The buying mechanic reminds me a lot of Shovel Knight from RoA, was that an inspiration?

Has it ever happened to you guys that no matter how many movesets you see or make, you're never satisfied with them? As in "that's not Paper Mario in Smash-worthy"

I don't see the problem with EB Porky having some Mother 3 moves. IIRC Porky said in Mother 3 that he wasn't aging correctly because he had been travelling through multiple time periods a ton of times.
