That would be all up to Tecmo if they want to add more protagonists as spirits. There are easily 7 other girls they could use if they would like. With Resident Evil, it is unrelated and more Capcom feeling spirits is good enough and not a fighter for any Smash pass.

The way I see it, the SMT and FE universes are connected because of TMS. While they establish that the FE characters are from another world, the gang live in a modern real life Tokyo that could be in the SMT metaverse (Amala Network). It is what it is. Crossover screwing with canon.
