Request: Separate Friend Finder for Europeans (and Australians?)

Actually, that's perfect! It allows one to see if there's any Europeans online at a glance, then you still have the option to challenge anyone from somewhere else if there isn't, all in the same window. Thanks a lot! :D For easy access, I'm posting the public beta thread link below...

help me, my Dedede sucks and doesn't seem to improve! any tips?

Mine's 1934-2118-2717. I think I could play late tonight (after 0:00), and I see you were awake at 4:49 last night :D.

*cough* allow me to quote myself, bad habit as that is.

Request: Separate Friend Finder for Europeans (and Australians?)

First of all, HUGE thanks to Kirby King, for bringing us the SWFF: quite possible THE system that changes the face of online Brawl gaming for so many of us. I've used it a lot in the past, and loved every bit of it. Really, thanks. I'd like to humbly request something that I think we need: a...

help me, my Dedede sucks and doesn't seem to improve! any tips?

I have to say, that was one of the humblest things I've seen someone say in a long time. Ironically, I think it also proves that your mindset is every bit as mature as any adult, and probably more than most. Also, I'm in a position similar than you, in that I want to become better at Brawl...

    My mom plays SSBB.

I admit I went "awwww" reading that. This is the kind of stuff that sounds like science fiction to me (not in very good terms with mine. Or speaking terms for that matter, fortunately I live by myself). Your mother really knows how to be one, I really wish mine was like that. I'm happy for you. :)

    Concerning the Back Room

Wow, someone desperately wants a handjob O_o. Leonsilver, something tells me you have only recently discovered internet if you can't take the very little heat this board is giving you. If anything, considering some of your remarks (that every reply but a couple of them have not been...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

It's killing a CPU Mario at 90% from the CENTER of Final Destination. I mentioned that since it seems the most widely used measurement of an attack's knockback. For the record, this places it as more powerful than most fsmashes; for a ranged, virtually instantaneous, reusable attack that can't...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

OK, you convinced me; the Dragoon is just too powerful. I didn't realize that dodging has startup lag before giving invincibility, among others. The final nail on the coffin is, I just went back and checked, and indeed, missing doesn't put you into helpless; it's a normal fall. Ouch. :laugh...

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

That's the mindgame. If you don't do anything and the opponent keeps waiting, the Dragoon will launch after a set amount of time. Knowing this amount, you can dodge it 100% safely.

Official 'Item Standard Play' Thread (65k views. Not bad for a side project, huh? :P + Poll in OP)

Fantastic thread, really! I wasn't expecting a serious thread about item usage to pop up on these boards, much less a detailed and inspired per-item analysis, and with intelligent discussion after it to boot. After reading all 9 pages, I'd like to discuss a couple of items further. One's the...

    Overcoming scrubness to play competitively.

I, too, think that there's a bit too much of eliteness in these boards for my tastes, but I guess there's no helping it, since this IS a community centered on "pro" smashing. It wouldn't hurt to respect others's skill levels and play styles a bit more (and that goes for both "pros" and...

    Overcoming scrubness to play competitively.

Hey, where are the walls of text? :ohwell: I think I understand what he's saying, and I do feel the same way. To say that you're proud of something sometimes just means that you hold that dear and are not ashamed of it, which is good. I'm proud of being a nerd, for example. It's a different...

    Overcoming scrubness to play competitively.

For the record, I disagree with that. I think Sirlin is more... categorical than that and indeed, defines someone who's consciously or unconsciously not playing to win as a scrub (and frankly, so do I). Of course you have the choice to play as you wish, in the same way that you have the...
