So it's looking pretty likely that I'll be moving to thunder bay for the next while. This scene is still fairly active, right? I'd love to keep playing smash with excellent people (mostly melee)

Ok so some general thoughts: Your bowser is pretty solid but new. You have definitely been putting in some solo work as demonstrated by your wavelands, ledgegames, and shield-dropping in between stocks, and that's great. You just need to get some match-up experience to know how to handle some...

Q&A The Bowser Questions and Advice Thread

The DI to get out of Sheiks chain grab would be up and behind her, then wiggling out and jumping. As for other grab scenarios, it depends on the character you're facing: Fox: - up-throw: DI behind him then wiggle out and jump (shouldn't be able to u-air you at any %) - down-throw: away and...

Q&A "Rate my bowser" Thread - Post YOUR bowser vids here

Thanks for the suggestions! I definitely need to polish my Boozer more (need an older tv as my current practice one is mildly laggy) so I can use him as a legit counterpick. I think the auto-cancel UpB (what it kinda seems like) is worth investing some more time in like you said; provides...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD5mCPLPs04&feature=youtu.be 36:40 is when my match starts. I understand most of my screw ups (dropping edgeguards, missed l-cancels, missed inputs, etc.) but would always appreciate some critique from the bowsers out there

So if you always approach the same way he's going to react the same way and you're gonna have a bad time. So mix it up. approaching with shield and then upB out of shield would be fine because fsmash is slow. Or pick a character with a gun and force him to approach.

Q&A The Bowser Questions and Advice Thread

So I have a tournament coming up that is using an older ruleset (from '06 I think) and I was wondering what some of bowser's better stages were back then and what good counterpicks would be, especially against spacies?

I have an easier time on yoshi's simply because of the auto ledge-grab, auto-cancel jump from the ledge, and the closer blast zones allowing for lower% KOs in general. After Yoshi's it kind of becomes orientated on match-ups and personal preference. I've found success on FoD against spacies and...

Q&A The Bowser Questions and Advice Thread

A good start would be watching the DJ Nintendo- Strong Bad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVIFwd2IYZs) match to get some ideas. What seems to work well in the neutral are spaced fairs and ftilts; dj likes to waveland off the platform and fair quite a bit with varying success. As for the grabs...

What beats Up+B out of shield frame-wise? I'm trying to understand what I can punish oos and what I can't.

Q&A The Bowser Questions and Advice Thread

I recall DJ saying that for survival DI you'd DI up and towards the opponent (like Gamma explained, thank you) and ASDI down and towards your opponent. So for combo DI, it'd be down and away for DI and ASDI would be the same? I'm just trying to get an idea of which direction I should be pushing...
