The Lucario Playstyle Thread: Clean-up! Clean-up! (editing some of the sections)

Well, personally I think you might want to keep balanced as a style, but personally I've always viewed balance as being able to switch between the styles more than incorporating both... you balance time playing each way, switching up when necessary. That said, I'd like to see Olimar done...

The MetaGame Collection Thread ~Approaching Options (nondatewise) ~

Pretty much agree with the above on f-tilt and d-tilt myself. Question: How do others use u-smash. I realize yes, it has lots of lag/startup time, but that hitbox is nuts. Anyone willing to discuss applications of u-smash's spiral hitbox (aka the invisible part around lucario)? If so...

What is your way of the aura?

I play a similar style to the one I played in melee, adapted to a new character. I play a flexible game, making sure to transition between defense and offense as needed, never getting caught up in a single style if I can avoid it. Despite it being basic in terms of spacing, I rely on...

King Dedede vs Lucario Matchup Discussion

If D3 overuses his shield (highly likely), the constant pressure on it/decay from having it out often leaves the pompom on the hat and his feet open. If you can routinely aim attacks at those two spots (not exactly easy with his grab range), you can get through the shield. Waddles do make Aura...

Meh, my Lucario's starting to feel spammy.

I've been having the same problem as the TC. I've been limiting myself in matches to not using the moves I spam, such as f-smash. It's helped my timing, and is quite fun since it forces me to think constantly.

However, as was said earlier, if you whiff the FP grab, if they've spot dodged or something (not too uncommon), you might nail them with the flame, which can buy you some time (aka the lag time). Also, if I recall correctly, the very tip of the flame can trip, which could lead to a setup if...

Characters you can FSmash on the ledge

We should do this for a number of attacks... I've gotten some really odd ones with D-smash before, I'll have to thoroughly test who it can hit. Who knows, maybe we'll find a use for it other than the random lucky roll punish. For f-smash, I'm somehow not surprised. It does everything else...

Does anybody use aerial force palm? And Force Palm L-Cancel

I was about to say, I think I've seen someone (Milln?) Edge guard with it fairly well. Other than edge guarding, I don't see much use for it though... someone please prove me wrong and find a use.

The MetaGame Collection Thread ~Approaching Options (nondatewise) ~

To each their own on approaching, but Kappie, take into account that some people might not always play a waiting game, even against characters where statistics say that defense is the best option. In those cases, approaches are vital, and knowing your options lets you get the right move. Even...

changing the way we play lucario?

I'd say it'd be great to pull out partway through the match, even if to just throw off the timing, since they'll see you coming, think "oh, b-air in all likelyhood", and could easily screw up the dodge/block. I'll have to work on this, but I'd say the very idea has potential... now we need...

The MetaGame Collection Thread ~Approaching Options (nondatewise) ~

Well, my take on aggressive, balanced, and defensive (and what needs to be clarified). Aggressive: We've all seen berserkers. I think what people don't notice is HOW they're berserking. The spacing is a key, as well as approaches. - Approach: Run and spot dodge? I find that you can...

Lucario is a Monster in Stamina Mode

I love the "RAAAAAAAAR, I DON'T APPROVE OF STAMINA/TRYING SOMETHING NEW" posts. They're so fun(ny). On topic, this actually is interesting. You could even try things like adding the flowers on people's heads to prevent projectile camping... you could use bunny hoods to change the aerial...

    Playing in different ways.

Ah, there's part of the issue. I was asking people to post things they thought they could do that aren't normal that could have a beneficial effect. In regards to just playing normally, to each their own. I find that just playing I tend to build up reflexes that make me predictable, and...

    Playing in different ways.

Thread hijacked. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted :P Those level 1s are brutal. It's a trick for those who don't know... they're secretly able to use final smashes at will... shhhh... don't tell anyone.

    Playing in different ways.

Actually, the inspiration for this idea was Milln's earlier topic about what you could do without f-air. I just wanted to take it farther. It doesn't make you worse, and instead forces you to be better and more creative since those reflexes you build up when you play a certain way for too long...
