    Hey Sethlon i have a question for you. What controller layout do you use when you play PM? I mean do you change any button or play with Tap jump on or off. Also did you remove your GC L and R button springs? What would you personally recommend for someone beginning in the competitive scene?

    Cstick! I use the cstick for almost all of my aerials, so I can have as much aerial control as possible.

    I'm not sure. I usually try to show up for the monthly one, but my monthly megabus trip this month was up to St Louis (actually still up there atm). Might try to swing down for next month's.

    Hey Sethlon if you remember I asked you about playing some Sm4sh 3DS and you said the controls sucked , but now that i have the Wii U do you play that version at all? Also i am now trying to get into the competitive scene in smash and hopefully someday i can go to a well know tourney and have a real PM match with you.

    Quick Roy question. I am currently trying to land the sweetspot on 3.5 Roys Dair. Is there any help with setups and actually landing that? I can do it sometimes but when i try and hit the armpit it doesnt have the fire and spike. Am i doing something wrong?

    Hate to add another question but when i see you come up from the ledge i see you Dair sometimes. Is that for an edgegaurd and also when I Dair offstage i tend to plummet down. Do you have a technique you use to prevent that if you go for the spike offstage?

    Yep! I've played around 5-6 of them. A fan translation of Binding Blade is one of those, though I actually haven't finished it....got stuck at one point where I'm pretty sure it was impossible to continue on, and I haven't started it up again yet

    I had a glitch like that in my game, if it was one during a dialogue scene, then you can just reload the save and skip it. You can't find out what they say, but such is life.

    My main focus is on PM. I'm probably going to start taking either Melee or Smash4 more seriously soon, but I haven't decided which one, yet.

    1. Have you ever beaten a Marth player before?( with or without a video so I could watch it).
    2. If you have beaten a Marth player could you give me any tips? NOTE: MELEE ONLY no Project Melee

    Two basic questions I'm sure you're sick of, I searched but couldn't find them.

    1. Why did you choose to play Roy instead of Marth.

    2. Have you played Melee SD remix. If so, what is your opinion of Roys changes in that game.

    Hey!

    Picking Roy over Marth was mostly a flavor thing for me. I like the whole swordsman schtick, but not really a fan of the super-over-graceful style that Marth has, and fire is cool and all. One of my crewmates also played Marth, so it made sense for me to play the other.
    I knew from the get-go that Marth is the better if the two characters in Melee, but I was stubborn enough to try to make it work regardless.

    Ive played a bit of SDRemix. The changes certainly make Roy a better character, but at the cost of some of his personality; he feels a lot like Marth in SDRemix IMO, whereas in PM he has a more unique flavor.

    Sethlon you are a great Roy player. My friends always laughed at me for saying Roy was my main in Melee and PM and watching you has made me want to get better at him when i play. Also I highly doubt it but if you have Smash 3ds naybe you would want to battle or something. I dont expect you too sicne you are a pro player. Have a good day Sethlon. Roy's our boy.

    I don't actually have a 3ds at the moment, so no go on that front. (Even if I did, I dunno if I would want to stomache more of the 3DS controls, lol)

    Hey Sethlon, first off just wanna say I'm a massive fan and as a fairly new smash player I'm working hard to become a better Roy in PM and you're my idol. Anyways, I was just wondering why you don't use your ftilt very much? I find it as a great zoning tool and a finisher for combos when the opponent is a little far away. Thanks!

    Ftilt is a great poke, but overall its low risk and low reward. In most situations I'd rather go for a dtilt for better comboability or an fsmash for more raw damage/KO power.

    Hey Sethlon, I have a really silly question for you. When I watch you play, I see you do what looks like a dash into a d-tilt. Are you actually dashing/running into a d-tilt or am I mistaking it for a wavedash?

    What you're seeing is likely a fast run -> crouch -> dtilt.

    He probably means he foxtrots or just dashes, crouches, and dtilts Foxtrotting is a better option than running, but it's easy to cut your speed, so if your foxtrot is bad, just do a normal dash.

    second post for hitboxes. The dair has a sweetspot on the middle of the blade that knocks opponents straight up, and two other deeper sweetspots on the arm/body that are the meteor hitboxes. Note that blade hitboxes take priority over the arm/body, so you have to space it deep so that only those would hit.

    Hey Sethlon, I'm a new smasher/ Roy main out here in NC and I had a couple questions about Roy strategies in PM. Firstly when playing against Marth what's the best mindset to play him in? defensively, aggressively etc. What are your thoughts/strategies on wavedashing as Roy. And what is the most important thing for being a Roy main?

    Spacing would probably be the most important thing for being a Roy main. Its important to be able to hit Roy's sweetspots while also being as far away as possible for such; not much point having a sword if you don't take advantage of its reach. Either that or movement.

    I actually used to live around the Houston area for quite a while (though up north more in a little town called Magnolia). I'll definitely try to hit you up if I'm ever in the area though! Its a shame Houston doesn't have more PM activity.
