I'd say just in regular matches against friends. Practice short hopping and fast falling first. Once you're comfortable with that try and l-cancel each and every time it's applicable. Between teching and l-canceling, you should be hitting L or R just about every time you hit the floor...

Smash is still very much a tech game. A lot of things will transfer over. get really accurate and you should be fine
