Been playing smash since N64. It was a big part of my circle of friends. We hosted and drove out to tournaments, and did some MLG, good times.
Now I'm just a rusty old lone smasher, seeing a lot of young people in the scene, people who don't remember the glory of melee.
Finding some good rivals to push yourself to be your very best. That's what it's all about. It's about being absolutely present to every millisecond, a hyper awareness that slows down time and predicts the future. In a single moment you improvise complex gestures. You ebb and flow with your opponent in a dance.
If a man isn't your enemy, he isn't your equal.
