I honestly think Octorok would make the most sense for a new Zelda character. Most Zelda characters appear in one game and are forgotten by the next, but Octoroks have remained a staple since the beginning. Plus they're cute (usually).

Huh, I actually never knew that. I guess that also means they technically didn't originate in a video game, but that rule only really applies to third party characters anyways.

To be honest, I wasn't really expecting Reimu to get announced during E3 anyways, and the fact that it wasn't a double reveal bodes well for her.

The post with Erdrick's Shield was done by Kumazaki, not Sakurai. It was pretty much just a coincidence that it ended up correlating with Smash's DLC.

Adding Octoling without "Fly Octo Fly", "Nasty Majesty" or "Octoling Rendezvous" would just be wrong. There are other songs I'd include as well such as "Shark Bytes" and "Splatattack (Octo)", but I feel like those three are just obligatory.

Considering how Smash Ultimate was revealed, Octoling would make perfect way to wrap up the game's DLC cycle.
