Official Toon Link 1.1.4 Patch Changes

He definitely seemed exactly the same to me when I was playing earlier today.

Walk-offs should be given a chance

We don't really need more stages available in my opinion. I can see the potential benefits, but there are huge negatives that OP mentions that are too hard to resolve.

    Solid Secondary?

I'm a fan of Kirby. Definitely covers some of Toon's major weaknesses but has a pretty different play style in general. Toon can't always land safe; Kirby has multiple jumps and can usually find a way to land (spends a lot of time in the air anyway). Toon can't do well against characters that...

Official The Picto Box - Toon Link Video & Critique Thread

Good bomb pressure and some really good instances of effective use of sword attacks in close combat situations as well. There were a few moments I saw where you tried to keep up the projectile spam when Mewtwo was pretty close to you (mid range or so), and he was able to dodge your projectiles...

    Do tiers really matter?

It really does feel like to win with a low tier character it just means you have to work a lot harder because their tools are more limited. ZeRo even admitted in a video that Toon Link (my main) is "hard to use" because his projectiles are his main strategy but if your projectile game sucks...

How do I kill with this character? And what throw is good?

We know what kills, but here's a question: How do you guys deal with tense situations in a match, where it's the last stock and both you and the opponent are at high percent, and you know that with rage your opponent can easily smash you into oblivion? How do you keep your cool and setup a kill...

Official Sea Chart - Toon Link Stage Research Thread

So from what I've read here, is this correct for Toon's optimal stage?: 1) Platforms for safer landings, camping, sharking, etc. 2) mid height ceiling so Toon can KO with u-air but also not get KOed as early due to his light weight? Mainly, I'm having issues deciding which ceilings are really...

Excellent pressure with the arrows in the second match, knowing that Peach would have much more trouble approaching than Fox.

Nice montage. Very good setups with projectiles. Can't really give any tips since it's just a highlight montage, though.

    Chat system for online

In other non-Nintendo games, voice chat just ends up being a nuisance. It would have been great if it was implemented with Friend battles I guess, but with anyone it would be totally abused even with the ability to be banned.

Need help teaching a friend how to "git gud" at Smash

Definitely just using it in general. Basic fundamental sense. Like, if I see someone coming in to attack me, I didn't have the knowledge that I could simply block them with shield and then attack. So, basically, in the "which button and when" sense I guess.

Need help teaching a friend how to "git gud" at Smash

One thing I never did when I first played Brawl was learn how to use my shield. Make sure she knows how to do that. She may already have that down though. Just my initial guess.

    The balance of defensive options.

It doesn't seem to be an issue to me. If shields are stronger it just buffs defense a little bit. Which can be a good thing. And rolls don't really matter. They are still punishable.

    The Most Defensive Smash?!

You can't go for as many follow ups as in Melee, but that is almost a good thing. In Melee, with one good read you pretty much destroy your opponent with guaranteed combos (given you are a pro). In Smash 4, you are guaranteed some followups depending on the character, but it is also all about...
