I love Battlefield so much I always ask if people want to just go there for game 1 in tourneys. Its probably the most neutral stage in the game but those edges are a bit of a nuisance.

Depends on where you live and the scene but a lot of smashers are 20-30 years old so being slightly older is not an issue. For example where I live its a large college town so most smashers are 19-24 but in California, where the heart of the scene is, has a large amount of older players.
