Uses for multi-shines?
I use multishining mostly for shield pressure. It's a really useful tactic to keep up your sleeve just in case you need it during a match. I have even broken some shields with the multishine before, so you know it has to be pretty useful. -

Best way to stop tap jumping?
I have always used tap jump when I play Smash, but since I am into competitive Melee know my friends are telling me that you should use X or Y to jump since it can help you when you are playing competitively.
