You also don't always have to regrab in a tech chase, I usually run into fair to downtilt to try pushing him off the edge.

A good Ivysaur will stop you from inhaling him with her spacing and camp you out. Approaching defensive Ivysaur as Kirby is where the match up can shift in Ivysaur's favor.

I can agree with that, you're probably going to be edge gaurding and gimping more than KOing marth. And, yes, you want to keep him above you, but that's most match-ups against marth really.

It's a good idea to play a dash dance and bait kind of game against marth. That's what helps me, anyway.

I think kirby is a solid mid tier right now. But I think there is still much to be developed in his meta game. He has a noticable lack of options in his approach game and doesnt play well against projectiles but he has hard punishes and edge guards on a lot of the cast. So who knows? I believe...

I really like doing this tech but it's admittedly not that good against good players. I've been toying around with using cutter dash as a tech chase option against characters with a slow roll, though. It pops them up and you can follow up with an up smash or up air.

Kirby dittos can be intense, you'll never see so many hammers and stones.
