Social Social Thread - Talk About Anything (You Are Allowed to Talk About)!

Hey, do y'all remember me? No? Oh well ... Anyway, I was active on Smashboards and Kaillera from 2006 to around 2009, after which school and life kinda took over. The lack of a Smash 64 scene nearby also kinda dampened my enthusiasm for the game. I just moved to Norcal, which has a much more...

Ask a Question, Get an Answer Thread~[Read Before Asking a Question]

I'm thinking of coming back after 5(?) years of hiatus. So I went on Kaillera and tried to get a few matches going. Except everyone has a different connection type now? I remember everyone using "good" back when I played ... Speaking of everyone, where did they all go? I'd expect more than 25...

    Question about lag on HDTVs

What if you connect your PC to a HDTV and play on PJ64? Would that still lag?

Hey, anyone remember me? No? That's okay, I wasn't that good :P. I quit back in '09 ... Anyway, I'm thinking of maybe training up to attend this. Now to find that controller ...

    Project M and Items

I think something cool we could try out is having characters spawn holding an item, which you select at the character select screen along with your character.

    Wii/Wii U

Calling it: Skyward Sword will be delayed, then released for both the Wii and Project Cafe.

Best character for beginners/new players to begin with?

When I first picked up the game I started with Kirby, but once I really got into it I realized that Jigglypuff would net me much easier wins. I think she has the easiest combos at the beginner level where no one knows how to DI or deny approaches.

What is the worst 2v2 team?

If we take your assumption (there are better teams), by the well-ordering principle, there is a "worst team."

    Jigglypuff Discussion

Yeah, uptilt to grab is better. But I think usmash works if there's a slope.

What matchup embodies the essence of melee?

Pretty much anything with Fox, Falco, Sheik, Marth, and Falcon except for dittos.

    The New Match-up Chart

I'm voting Fox >> Jiggly. Fox shuts down Jiggly's approaches, and lasers prevent you from camping effectively. All you have to do with Fox is take control of the middle of the stage (one disadvantage Fox has is Jiggly can gimp him easily), laser camp, and wait for openings.

    Jigglypuff Discussion

I think Samus' up B counts. Screw attack, drill, close enough.

    Jigglypuff Discussion

Can't every character with a drill shield break if timed perfectly?

    Jigglypuff Discussion

oh hai thar Yeah, Jiggly kinda sucks. She's great for people who are just picking up the game because she's easy to use and lolDI, but then you realize that your approaches get denied in every matchup. Except Ness.
