That sucks.
Kinda reminds me when I entered an "anything goes" M:tG tournament (banned cards = yay. Potential Channel + Black Lotus = potential lol games), lost in the quarterfinals (which I think was pretty good seeing as the last time I had played was several months prior), but then completely destroyed the eventual champion in a side game, all with the same deck.

I've been thinking about why I feel so frustrated and spent after playing you, and not others I routinely lose to. I think I have an idea, but I'll have to pay more attention when playing you and Josh. I think I've noticed less input lag, but more lag spike freezes when playing him, and more input lag but fewer lag spike freezes (which I find odd) when playing you.
Not to say that's why I've lost (as I can't seem to beat him either), but it would help explain my inexplicable frustration I feel when playing you, and why I'm not as frustrated after playing him (despite my winning about as much, and if the videos are any indication, less often).
I don't know if you've noticed anything similar, if you've played him recently. Meh, the search continues.

Anyway, more happy things (sorta).
I could put my wii code up so you could send the replays that way, but I'm afraid of my copy of brawl freaking out over the strange replays while I still don't have the homebrew channel on there. Though it probably won't break anything if I don't--I have a With Anyone replay where some hackers sent us all to the waiting room to fight. That was odd. But it hasn't broken anything, and even works, so I guess it'll be OK.
I'mma stop rambling now. I've fought with various forces over getting those last videos edited and put up, and I'm still trying to figure out why my recording setup is so FAIL at the moment. I played DDR for an hour and a half (finishing about an hour before our match) for the first time in months (and did just about as well as you might expect). I'm a bit spent now. I still gotta figure out the recording setup when I play my RL friend at Brawl tomorrow, assuming he'd be cool with it.
I'm THIS close to just going:
cat /dev/video0 > brawlfile
and being done with it. (I'm still a Linux n00b, but I believe that just takes the raw data from the device and dumps it to disk... no sound balancing or anything). There's always AudioSwap for crappy sound if I get desperate.
