  • Marth always wants to cry when he dies at 60%

IRL stuff first, then I'll get on. I'll be using Sonic and Ike only though, to prepare for the match against Shadowfire in Aibou's tournament.
I had a serious case of deja vu on that last match we had...

GGs though, I got kicked out of the room because I was saving the replay. That's my go-to video whenever I need a refresher on DI.
    That sucks.

Kinda reminds me when I entered an "anything goes" M:tG tournament (banned cards = yay. Potential Channel + Black Lotus = potential lol games), lost in the quarterfinals (which I think was pretty good seeing as the last time I had played was several months prior), but then completely destroyed the eventual champion in a side game, all with the same deck.

I've been thinking about why I feel so frustrated and spent after playing you, and not others I routinely lose to. I think I have an idea, but I'll have to pay more attention when playing you and Josh. I think I've noticed less input lag, but more lag spike freezes when playing him, and more input lag but fewer lag spike freezes (which I find odd) when playing you.

Not to say that's why I've lost (as I can't seem to beat him either), but it would help explain my inexplicable frustration I feel when playing you, and why I'm not as frustrated after playing him (despite my winning about as much, and if the videos are any indication, less often).

I don't know if you've noticed anything similar, if you've played him recently. Meh, the search continues.

    Anyway, more happy things (sorta).

I could put my wii code up so you could send the replays that way, but I'm afraid of my copy of brawl freaking out over the strange replays while I still don't have the homebrew channel on there. Though it probably won't break anything if I don't--I have a With Anyone replay where some hackers sent us all to the waiting room to fight. That was odd. But it hasn't broken anything, and even works, so I guess it'll be OK.

I'mma stop rambling now. I've fought with various forces over getting those last videos edited and put up, and I'm still trying to figure out why my recording setup is so FAIL at the moment. I played DDR for an hour and a half (finishing about an hour before our match) for the first time in months (and did just about as well as you might expect). I'm a bit spent now. I still gotta figure out the recording setup when I play my RL friend at Brawl tomorrow, assuming he'd be cool with it.

I'm THIS close to just going:
    cat /dev/video0 > brawlfile
and being done with it. (I'm still a Linux n00b, but I believe that just takes the raw data from the device and dumps it to disk... no sound balancing or anything). There's always AudioSwap for crappy sound if I get desperate.
    I lost my match T_T

Kirbywizard's Olimar is legit man. I got 2-1'ed in the match. It was Pit vs Olimar. The s**t is, that we had 2 Pit vs Olimar friendlies right after and I won both

    Life hates me sometimes...
Ok. I can save the replays anyway. That way I can send them to you and you can record them at your leisure.
Well the quickest way to do it, would be the xat, which is here: http://xat.com/LevisNiftyTorunament

But, should there not be a xat, the easiest way to do it is through tags. You know how you put a nametag when you play? Just type words in them to communicate with your opponent. Like for example, should I lose, my counterpick would be Battlefield. So I would make a new tag called BF, which stands for Battlefield.
Also, Give me about 5-10 more minutes with the recording setup.

I want to try two more things to get a recording. Goodness knows how well this is going to turn out.
ENNH...LeviNifty put us against each other in the SSBL tourney in round 1. When are you free to do the match?
Hey, hey. May I remind you of the defeat you handed my Zelda on Yoshi's Island? And perhaps the defeats you gave my Meta Knight and Peach. And maybe also the fact that you went even with Marth despite the fact that Marth vs Pika is 65:35 Marth.

I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit. You're improving, believe me.
Good. I truly hope you didn't mean it when you said you give up. Never quit. If you truly want advice on how to get better, then you could record a match and post it on the Pika boards for them to critique. I did it with my Zelda and got some great advice. I would suggest it.

    And don't quit kay?
I'm willing to vouch that it's my connection - me and Aibou had the laggiest match we ever had this morning, so chances are my wi-fi's being lol right now.
lol, good timing. I just now got home with my copy of the game. Are you spying on me? >> <<

    I'll go ahead and host.
Well, maybe not that soon. I plan to go to the store and by my own Brawl game. The original belongs to my brother.

All right, thanks. You're really good practice for me, so I can use my full knowledge of the character I'm playing against you, so it helps when i ask for advice on the character.

I already posted the Ike videos here. I was given a lot of advice, and the person who critiqued me complemented you as well.
Could you let me know when you're able to brawl again? I KNOW we can get a good connection sometimes - our first Brawl proved that. I'd like to go PT against you, and get that recorded and get some advice on that.

Sorry if I seem like I'm leeching off your access to recording equipment, btw :(
I'm competent with chaingrabs and F-air follow-ups, and I also don't Thunder like a moron. Am I sufficient enough?

Just as long we don't go BF or FD. If changing backgrounds screws us in 1v1, imagine how it would be with a 2v2.
How could I forget that stage? It wasn't even 24 hours ago :/

It does cause lag, now that I remember. Stupid scenery changes.
The only stages I know that can cause massive lag are Final Destination, WarioWare and 75M. One of those three?
Seems like he bailed though. But maybe later. I'm busy fuming over how slow Youtube's being.
Doesn't help that I originally thought Safari and Opera were just add-ons to internet browsers, lol. I guess I'll look them up and see if I can install them.

Same goes for Firefox, just uninstalling it (somehow) and reinstalling it (somehow).

If I try to link the videos to the respective critique threads, they wouldn't be able to see it until you made it public. So I'll have to hold off on that, lol.
Well, I FINALLY got Youtube to work for me. It required me to uninstall Adobe Flash and reinstall it again. However, Youtube still will not work on Firefox - it will work on Internet Explorer though.

Finally, that browser has a one-up on Firefox.
Seems I can't watch those two other videos still. It also says that you uploaded no videos on your profile, even though I can watch the first one there.

My brother's computer can still play Youtube videos though, so I can probably watch them there.
You got the first video onto your profile, so I can see it now. Thanks!

Please let me know when the second and third matches are up, OK?
Darn, I can't watch the match. You'll have to emb it or something onto your profile, like how other profiles have their most recent video shown there.
Accepted the FR. Do you think you can upload the second match too, so I could post it in the Ike boards? Maybe not the third one though, since it ended on a grim note :p

Pika's D-smash is what got me into DIing attacks in the first place XD. I almost never get stuck throughout the whole move anymore, and I'll only get hit by the final hit if I get hit during the middle of it (falling into from the air, running into it, etc.). However, unlike Pika's D-smash, which when DIed will send you a low trajectory so you can tech and escape, DIing Sonic's U-smash sends you either back up, or at an angle of about 25-30 degrees. Either way, you're back in the air again, in danger of Sonic's air game.
I was feeling really lucky at that moment. I knew for sure I was going to stage-spike you that time around ;)

U-smash has god priority the entire duration of the move, so if I can slide under you and do it, I'll likely beat out any attack that tries to stop it, aside from disjoints. It's best to try and avoid it, or if you do get caught, SDI up. You'll escape before the final, powerful hit.

My account is here. Conveniently enough, I can watch videos on people's profiles, I think. It's the main viewing area I can't watch it through.
My internet connection decided to fail for that small moment. It wasn't a ragequit, I was certain of that.

So...Marth f-air kills me, and Sonic U-smash kills you. Battle of the spam is on the horizon.
Man...had you reacted to the attacks in time before the F-smash came, you would have most likely won that set.

    Good games, good sir.
Hmm...Well I did specifically state that I wouldn't extend dates for anyone. Once the brackets are up, the dates will be set. I will be giving everyone 3 days to complete their matches. No more than that.
I hope you do well. The opponents there are no joke. I couldn't have asked for a higher leveled tourney honestly .I also will not be holding anything back, so if we fight, expect no mercy.
