Also, good, well balanced games (like Guilty Gear) always give their characters options in most situations. They might not be GOOD options, but they are options. IE they buff their weaknesses to make them LESS weak in the area. Note that they're STILL WEAK, but they can do something with it...

People don't understand how to balance a fighting game. Perhaps they've never seriously played a real one. Look at the melee top tiers recovery's, and you'll find WHY they aren't bothered by it as much. They're all either fast, sweet-spot-able at a good distance (to be able to avoid such...

Well, see, it's not really a problem. As I said in that post, "fiddle" does not have to mean "nerf" (or "buff", either). Again, Falcon's knee-taunt thing (I don't know what to call it, when you taunt when you sweet-spot the knee). IT DOES NOTHING MECHANICALLY. It hits just as hard, with or...

Sorry, I did not intend to make this seem like I think it's a clone of Melee; I definitely don't think it is. If you're familiar with other fighting game series, I'd see this more as going from Super Street Fighter II to Super Street Fighter II Turbo, or from Guilty Gear XX to Guilty Gear...

And I like it. I feel like they're doing a great job--the game FEELS like Melee, so I'd say the transition is almost seamless (still a few bugs, naturally, but I'm not complaining). However, to make the transition from Melee to this seamlessly doesn't need to mean "keep the best characters...

I'd mess with characters that have proven themselves for a decade of tournament play for two main reasons. Either... A) for balance B) to make them interesting Part A, I know what you're thinking, you want to balance the rest of the cast to them. Which is fine--I think it's going to be...

This leads me into my list of things that I really like, and a few simple things I'd like changed about it. Basically, I'm playing Snake, and I really, really like it. I play Venom in Guilty Gear and am a huge fan of screen control, and I feel like you guys did great with emphasizing that...

Runners and Spammers: A Kirby Problem

Well... what you said above doesn't really sound that much different from the normal Kirby match-ups (IE Fox and Shiek can decimate Kirby with or without projectiles). Anyway, I just don't think that it's as impossible to deal with these runners as you guys are making it out to be.

    Kirby General Discussion

The question was about cool things that Kirby can do; it never said anything about how often you can do them.

Are you kidding? SHDL. And the WH, as Buttcrust puts it, is always great. It's more of an insult than a move. It's like saying, "Hey, why don't I read you so well as to not only hit you with my really laggy move, but also sweetspot it?"

Potential for a Kirby player combo group combo video

No kidding. I often wonder why I even bother showing up in hopes of a decent thought. But, nah, the only good thing that has come this way in a while is Krazy Kirby Kid's thoughts on match-ups. And that was a long, long time ago.

Runners and Spammers: A Kirby Problem

And if the Kirby is somewhat good he can deal with it seeing as this is the normal Kirby match-up. IE an up-hill battle that you should probably lose but won't because you're too awesome to lose. To get ahead, they basically need to out-play you for a bit, then they can do whatever. The way...

Runners and Spammers: A Kirby Problem

OK, if someone is going to run all day, you can catch up with them. Why? They have to cross you eventually. Smash is 2-D. So, once they're in a corner and you're approaching, they either have to stand and fight or go above or through you. Either way, that's your chance. The only character...
