On the bottom screen, the bar that shows which items you have fills up, and I'm not sure if you only keep the items you see on the bottom or if it remembers the ones that were pushed off the screen as well. Also, what do the little gold/silver smash symbol items do?

I've been able to consistently get downthrow to fair instead of grab release to fair. It works better at lower percents though, and I think it can be vectored out of by certain characters. It may be more reliable than grab release though. I can even follow up with a second fair sometimes...

i have an old tv with no video output but im pretty sure it has an audio output. does this mean i cant use a capture card to record brawl? is there a way to record my matches and if so what do i need?
