No. I for one claim that if a person wants to help develop and expand a character's meta, they should. It's hard to win majors with characters that are considered mid tier, but it's that determination that helps unlock their true potential.

And let's not forget that it would destroy Dedede's main characteristic, Gordo.

I'd be inclined to say that King Dedede doesn't really have that many weaknesses in the hands of a capable player. His setups with Gordo give him that infinite window of versatility that no other character has.
