Event - Nintendo Of America 2014 Qualifier - Chamblee, GA Discussion

I'll be there. Wouldn't put money on my odds of doing well, with the weird rules they're using, but it'll be fun to check it out at least, maybe familiarize myself with GA's Smash scene.

    Georgia Social Thread

I'll finally be getting my car this week, so I'm thinking I'll finally head down to Duluth and check out this place everyone's been raving about. I've always wanted to get into Georgia's competitive Smash scene, but I'll be honest, I've been pretty freaking lazy about it. Like, I've had this...

Movies you can watch over and over again.

The Addams Family for me. Probably Raul Julia's best performance. ... Well, except for his role as Bison in "Street Fighter: The Movie", of course. :D

This is it final tour (Michael Jackson)

I might go, if he decides to tour in the US. It's been awhile... Gotta wonder if he's still got the moves.

Street Fighter IV *Super, AE and Ver.2012*

... Well, shoot. I had thought Gen's standing might improve a little, this long after the game's release.

    Watchmen film

I know the story like the back of my hand. It fits, in the sense that it makes logical sense to someone following the plot. It doesn't, however, match the theme. The entire novel is a somber, mature look at this alternate version of 1985 in which the only thing keeping the world from...

    Important Things with Demitri Martin

I first saw Demitri Martin back during his "Demitri Martin: Person" special. I remember thinking how brilliant he was, and idly wishing they'd give him his own show. Now that it's become a reality, I'm starting to wonder if it was such a good idea. Demitri Martin is still brilliant, but I've...

    Watchmen film

I thought the movie's ending was better than the book's. Seriously, that "alien invasion by giant squids" plot was bull**** and we all know it.

Is SSMB Really Better Than SSB?

No. It's like comparing apples and onions, dude, they're two different things.

Street Fighter IV *Super, AE and Ver.2012*

I dunno, maybe I just got lucky this time around. The only Shotos I had to fight were Ken and Sagat, and neither of them seemed to be quick enough on the uptake to start an uppercut before I hit them with a jumping fierce kick.

Street Fighter IV *Super, AE and Ver.2012*

It was pretty difficult, unsurprisingly. Like you said, Seth has a lot of fantastic moves, but they're pretty weak in terms of actual damage dealt. That, combined with his horrible defense, meant I was spamming his Triple Shoryuken and Spinning Piledriver by the time I got to my rival. The AI...

Street Fighter IV *Super, AE and Ver.2012*

Ahh, that explains how I was able to get that perfect in the first place. Also, the slightly different music. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Yeah, I'd had it set to just one round before. Until today, I was only using Arcade mode to unlock characters, and after that, find online matches...

Street Fighter IV *Super, AE and Ver.2012*

I ran into something strange today. I was playing through Arcade mode on the highest difficulty (gotta get them achievements) with Seth, since he was the only character I hadn't yet used to beat Arcade mode. Through some bizarre mix of sheer luck and obscene throw priority, I managed to get a...

Mobile Suit Gundam: The General Gundam thread. Unicorn site is up and running.

The one Gundam series I really got into was G-Gundam during it's Toonami run a few years back. Wing was a bit before my time, and I was "too young" for Evangelion, so it and Beast Wars were pretty much the only mech shows I got to watch. Loved it, though. Loved it to death. I've wanted to get...

Street Fighter IV *Super, AE and Ver.2012*

So, am I the only one here who's maining Gen? It's tough going, I'm finding. Seems like almost everything in Crane stance has been slowed to the point of uselessness with the possible exception of his air fierce kicks and the Wall Jump (and even that only works when they don't see it coming)...
