    Pokemon Trainer vs Sonic

I believe the trick to Sonic players is not repeating their own patterns, because once you figure out Sonic's attacking patterns he's pretty much wrecked. Every Sonic player has his/her own way of using the special attacks to confuse and raise damage, so it's a matter of defending and finding...

    Best way to reduce knockback?

I thought ice cooning was for razor curving... If you want to call it something call it air cooning or you´ll confuse people (which is probably what you´re trying to do).

Counterpicking Stages - Current Discussion: PIKACHU

Kirby is extremely versatile on most stages, I don't think it's easy to find one that completely destroys his game. I would say Norfair is a good option to reduce the chances of him gimping you. Brinstar has the same effect, so it's also good. I'm not confident about FD, BF, Yoshi's Island or...

    Ivy's Razor Leaf

you could post a link of that post in this thread so people who haven't gone through all the pages of the Ivysaur Tactical discussion can take a look at it.

    Pokemon Trainer vs Bowser

Makes sense, but it's somewhat of a risk to do that mainly because the time it takes to PC could be used for more efficient attacks. For example, you could raise % with squirtle, send him far and then switch and kill with Ivy. But it'll take more effort not to die with lightweight Squirtle...

    Best way to reduce knockback?

For Ivy, would Uair or Dair improve vertical recovery, seeing how normally they send Ivy down (Uair) or stop his movement (Dair)? Usually I use Uair out of reflex, but I'm really not sure if this is the best thing to do.

The Pal Pad: Pokémon Trainer Player Listing

Awesome, another Houston PT. I think that makes two of us...?

    Pokemon Trainer vs Bowser

I really don't think Squirtle's aerial game has much of an effect when a couple of hits from Bowser can be deadly, while complete aerial **** from squirtle probably takes a long time to finish off Bowser. Also, it is much easier for Charizard to grab Bowser than for Bowser to grab Charizard...

    Ivy's Razor Leaf

What exactly does having more spin mean? does it increase damage, knockback, anything?

    Pokemon Trainer vs Bowser

Good tip on Ivysaur, I actually thought ivysaur would do best in this match before I knew about the grab-release. Given that, Charizard vs. Bowser is the most epic you can get. Squirtle is probably good, but I'm sure a few hits from Bowser would send squirtle flying, so I'd go for Zard. With...

    Secondaries for PT mains

hey, I was wondering who you guys think are good characters to second for PT mains. I've been giving a lot of thought to this, since ideally a secondary covers bad stages and match-ups, but since Pokemon Trainer technically has several weaknesses. Also, the fact PT is three characters in one...

Choosing Your Starter: IKE take TWO

Definitely squirtle. I think t-block summed it up pretty well. Charizard is not bad, but Lucas´s aerials can rack up damage pretty quickly on charizard in a way they can´t on squirtle due to size and speed. Ivysaur is not terrible either, but squirtle does much better. They´d be good for...

Bidoof Academy - Pokémon Trainer Q+A Thread

Mmm, I have used that...I guess I just need practice. Used to shielding with R, so with the wiichuck I end up using B instead of Z and getting killed. Do you leave tap jump on?

Bidoof Academy - Pokémon Trainer Q+A Thread

Does anyone here use the Wiichuck? It's the only controller option I've had available recently and I was wondering how to make it feel less awkward. Mostly I'm suffering with short hop, grabs, shield, and quick smash attacks (no C-stick...)
