The aura should never die! A Lucario's Guide

The aura should never die! A Lucario's Guide

Heey! It has been a long time after the last update huh?

Yeah, the 1.1.3 Patch: "Everyone gets buffed or left unchanged while Lucario gets the corner" ... Not really.

For those who are used to Lucario at this point, you might feel difference on the ASC: "There's something different on ASC... but I can't tell what.." You're probably saying that right now. Don't worry, it's an actual thing. You have your foe less time trapped on your ASC.

Yup. The exact changes:
  • Knockback growth: 100 -> 93 (This means that you have to attempt this at higher percentage to get the same result).
  • Angle: 80 -> 83 (People escape to the top faster now)
  • Hitlag modifier: 1.00x -> 0.78x (Normally, when you hit a foe, a lag is calculated proportional to the strength (or might) of the hit for both ends, with some special exceptions, here the hits are "faster").
  • Horizontal Air Speed, Walking, Falling and Fast Falling slightly increased.
  • And some hilarious buff to the AS while on mega evolution
At first, it seems a huge nerf, play a bit and you'll get used to it.
This DOESN'T BREAK the ASC -> JCU True combo! you only need to get used to the new timing (ASC -> Bair true combo probably doesn't exist anymore ( ;w;)7 ).

Well... that's it for now!
Later for now! Happy smashing!

:133:
  • Added more terms in the terminology (duh) section.
  • Updated the missing killing percentages and angle in the move breakdown.
  • Updated Aura Sphere breakdown.
  • Added more points in the advanced techniques section
  • Added more links and sources!
If you have been looking on the guide recently, you might have noticed some changes not mentioned on the last update. I can't post updates every time I post a minor update, so I was looking for a big change in order to post it as a guide update.

Anyways! I would like the discovery that Steam shared the "Steam drop" xD, but the guys here said I should avoid putting names on it... (...yet ¬w¬*). @Entro also shared a video demostration on how fluid Lucario can be using this technique. Maybe not a crucial skill to learn/master, but it will definitely help you on platform specific situations.

Keep training guys! And happy smashing! May the aura be with you!
:133:
  • Added MORE sources
  • Added Air Walk to terminology
Sorry, this was a quick patch after @MythTrainerInfinity noticed the Air Walking tech wasn't added. Shout-outs to him!
  • Added Advanced techniques section.
  • Added even more sources.
  • Fixed some of the links.
  • Added Customs and doubles plan!
It's finally done!
The guide which we expected at first it's done! We have covered all our first goals and the guide now has a first, "complete" release!

BUT!
As we were working on the guide, some others section were discovered, and some others were recommended by guys who were giving their feedback. We would like to thank those guys who have given their support and help us grow this guide! This guide won't be as complete as it is now without you guys! (And it keeps growing, amazing!!).

The work is not over yet, so please continue to give your feedback! We would like to become one of the reckoned guides in this site! (Maybe on the whole internet!).

Okay, talking now about the update content.
The advanced techniques section was added! This hold some tips which will mostly improve your game-play, and can't be categorized as a basic stuff due to many factors and mind-games.
Also, the strategies section we planned was "removed". This section was merged with the advanced techniques, since it kind of has the same goal. We also plan to add some "strategies vs XXXXX character", but they'll be added on the match up section, please be on the lookout of this information!

Finally but not least, A HUGIGANTIC THANKS TO ALL OF THE GUYS who has sent us some feedback! Let's keep working together!

Happy Smashing!
  • Added combos and mix-up content and banner
  • Added a bit more of sources.
Sorry for taking too long for the release of this update.
After the 1.0.6 patch, We were worried about noticing what changes has been made and the match up situation, that writing down the combos while keeping track of update changes was time consuming.
I should mention, that there's already a thread explaining detailed information about combos, and copy-pasting that information can be non-honest work and ruin an entire thread focusing on it.
Since Lucario combo options are always changing, writing down all of them will extend this guide a lot more, discouraging people to read this.

As a final note, I'll contact the owner of that thread the permission to use his information, and If we get it, We'll resume it to the most important combos worth to mention.
With nothing more to mention for the moment, We wish you have a happy smashing!
  • Added some animations (Credits to this awesome guy @Croi!)
  • Added moves KO percents and angles.
  • Cleaned up some quick grammar fixes.
  • Changed the guide icon.
This was a quick modification, and I thought it was worth to mention as an update for material and content reasons. Happy Smashing!
  • Added the match-up section (Thanks for @Croi and the community for allowing me!)
  • Added NECESSARY Images.
  • Added more sources.
  • Cleaned up the guide (maybe not perfect, but OK).
  • Updated some contents.
Finally, update v0.6 is here (That took a while...)! Maybe you have seen most of the pictures and style before this update, while I was working on this (Sorry for any inconvenience it did ^^u).

The match-up section is currently being discussed, and I'll post a brief summary about any conclusion the community makes.

What's next?
I might be working on the combos & mix-ups section. You're free to share me your mix-ups and combos! In advance, I'll ask for your comprehension and your patience, as some combos WON'T BE 100% guaranteed (unless I specify it).

Also, the arts displayed here are random ones I found on the internet, If you have any one that you wish to be displayed, please feel free to send me a message, containing the image and where do you wish to see it!

Thanks in advance for your patience, and happy smashing!
  • Added Specials breakdown topic.
  • Added some more sources.
  • Added some images.
  • Updated some frame data of the moves breakdown.
  • Updated aerial moves breakdown - general tips.
  • Added more general advanced topics.
Finally, the specials breakdown is here!
It's a big topic to talk about, as we need to cover some frame data, what changes occurs with the aura mechanism, and, maybe the most important topic, the advanced stuff you can do with them.

Please, I explained information I currently know or have noticed in my game-plays, and there could be missing points or techniques which you know and it's not discussed or mentioned here. If you know something we forgot to mention, please lend your support, and I'll gladly add it to the guide!

The next update will be more styling and cleaning up this guide, in order to be easier to read, it might take a while so please be patient.

Lastly, I want to thank all of you who have supported me with some images, art, advanced techniques and corrected me during this guide! Your help is highly appreciated!
  • Added aerials attacks breakdown.
  • Added some (possibly unnecessary) images.
  • Added some sources.
  • The next update will bring down :4lucario: most versatile arsenal, his specials! Maybe after his specials breakdown I'll start creating some images and guide editing to help the style of this.
  • I apologize in advance for the slow develop of my guide, I do this during my job's free times and I try to be as clear as possible.
  • Once again, thank you for your feedback! Much appreciated!
  • Finished ground attacks (with the exception of recovery attacks and ledge attacks).
  • Updated the brief damage output to be more precise.
  • Some quick clean-up.
  • Added more sources.
  • Added grabs & throws (frame data of throws are missing).
  • Added some pros and cons.
  • Wish to start with specials soon.
  • Thank you guys for your support! I'm trying to play and write the guide to keep it fresh! Please forgive me in advance if I take too long writing the guide!.
