Hey, I'm looking for a track, maybe someone can help me out. I have a feeling it's Pharell. The beat samples Thom Yorke's The Eraser.

anyone happen to know it?

Did you actually just list your preferred pornography sites? Classic.

You have very good points, but it's just to kill time and boredom for me, mostly. Out of 200 friends, I regularly communicate with maybe about 20 at the very maximum.

See, those activities you listed, are probably achieved quicker through instant messaging services or through texting. I also made a SomethingAwful account, but I also go on /b/, which sort of defeats the purpose, in my opinion.

And I didn't really advertise it at first... but I love /b/. Free speech, with no agendas, make for some fantastic discussions.
Yo, talk more music!

I'm not sure how instant messaging can help with networking and meeting people. Text messaging the same thing. I have to know these people before I start IMing or texting them. You also can't make events and send them out to hundreds of people through IMs. Well, you CAN but it's incredibly inconvenient and defeats the purpose.

also, are you really comparing SomethingAwful with /b/? The vast majority of SA is about as far away from /b/ as you can get, and most of SA hates the hell out of 4chan. SA does have 4chan-lite forums like FYAD and BYOB, but I would never pay 10 bucks to access those parts of the site.

I'm not comparing them, just stating I prefer /b/ over Something Awful. The communities are pretty split, not going to deny that.

Maybe I'm just different, but I don't like randomly hooking up with people I barely know, for whatever purpose.

Still, good on you for taking advantage of Facebook's applications for personal benefit, especially on a level such as that.

As for music, R.A. The Rugged Man. Beastly rapper.

@ETWIST: Just break it off...If ya can't, just mentally break it off. If she's a couple hundred miles away, you can still find a girl and she won't know about it.

Which artist or song made you fall in love with hip hop? Lke genuinely got you hooked to the genre?

I used to listen to music so casuallyyyyy, like a bit of Nelly here and Ja Rule there lol (don't hate, they used to make good music) but once I heard Walk With Me by Joe Budden I was like damn, this is something else, this is more than music. It hit me so hard, I caught the bug and just started checking for Joe as much as possible and fell in love with his music.

I grew up with it. I never listened casually because my dad aleways had maddd mixtapes and albums. I mainly grew up with Outcast, Wu Tang, UGK, and some other ****t my dad had me listening to.

DMX - Let Me Fly

But then College Dropout may have been the reason I got into underground so much, via Mos and Kweli.

I casually grew up on Jay Z/Nelly/Cam'ron

It's all actually really blurry to me. I've always kind of had an affinity towards hip hop tho I think

My mom would bump her Israeli cassete tapes, my pops would have his soft rock **** on the radio. I needed something different.

Who actually likes the new (post 808s) Kanye besides me? I think he's funny as hell
A lot of people in this thread loved MBDTF.

@N9NE's question: Was prolly Eminem's music that got me into the genre. I'm hooked easily by complex rhyme schemes and music with content.

Everything else is cool, but that's what moves me.

And people like this guy?!
Right... lmao

And as growning up as a NY kid of course I was listening to Jay-Z, Ja Rule and more importantly Nas. Been listening to Nas since 1999 from I Am and The Firm when my stepfatehr at the time was working over the summer and I had to come with him o_ O I'd listen to a lot of Nas in the car without even realizing it lol.

MBDTF made like a trillion dollars and had every music critic outlet handing it perfect 10s like it was nothing. I'm fairly sure you aren't the only one who likes the new Kanye.

Kid Rock initially got me into hip-hop, then Slim Shady LP came out. I was like 9 lol and SSLP was my gospel. But for many years it was just Eminem and related artists that I really liked. One Mic made me fall in love with the entire genre.

Yeah, definitely a lot of people (including myself). It's easy to forget while reading ignorant youtube comments just how highly praised MBDTF is. Watch the Throne was not his best work IMO. Other than 808s, it's my least favorite album of his. On the other hand, MBDTF is probably my second favorite album from him behind Late Registration. IMO he's been pretty consistent throughout his career in terms of the quality of his work.

^^ Went from bad to worse with this guy... the hell.
HAHAHAHA! Yeah he's kind of a joke. He has the occasional good song but when it's bad, it's BAD.

I guess I was referring to like hardcore hip hop heads. They seem to only like the college dropout era kanye
