How would you guys feel if this was a stage

Fight on the bridges with the lava pillar being a hazard. The walls would be a blast line and it would be more zoomed in than this.

Pictochat's love, Pictochat's life, I really hope Pictochat comes back for the 3DS.

Then again, Planet Wisp made the most sense and was the most memorable place, and we got this...
Gotta get that Hedgehog exposure on the media and sell more copies of the latest (and not greatest) Sonic game. Whaddayagannado.

Well, the greatest Sonic game is Generations :v and I'd personally love Rooftop Run, but I know it's not going to happen.

Yeh, it's a shame. Thinking about it though, if it weren't for Sega's current contract with Nintendo, Sonic probably may not have returned at all.

Windy Hill was inevitable in hindsight.

At least the Planet Wisp BGM has a place on the stage. It just fits too perfectly for the stage, it couldn't NOT be overlooked.

Yeah, I just hope we get something like Water Palace for the 3DS version, although Planet Wisp would've been perfect for the Wii U because it can have both industrial and grassland music.

I would have absolutely adored seeing Planet Wisp. It represents the Sonic series perfectly, melding its two most common level archetypes (grassland and industrial), and would be able to accommodate the widest range of memorable tunes.

Planet Wisp could still appear on the 3DS version as a stage, though the soundtrack would be limited

I think, if Meta Knight actually IS revealed on May 2nd (or May 16th because European release), we might get to see a Kirby stage the same day, like we did with Garden of Hope and Windy Hill Zone as Olimar and Sonic were confirmed to be back.

Well, now I'm disappointed that we didn't get that stage. Oh well, at least this stage looks nice.

What if as a stage we got the field from the Smash 64 commercial? It'd be a walk off stage, So Happy Together would be the only BGM, and it'd probably look pretty nice on the HD Wii-U.

For the record I understand that this will probably never happen, I'm just throwing out an idea that came to mind.

I have a few ideas for possible stages ideas that I want to get out there

Punch Bowl (Donkey Kong Wii U Stage) based on the arena where you fight Bashmaster, The Unbreakable in Tropical Freeze. The stage will consist of one large ice platform with several smaller platforms floating above it. Bashmaster will serve as a hazard by throwing ice blocks at the combatants amongst over moves that he performed in his boss fight. One interesting thing about it is that due to the fact that the Icy Mass your fighting on is floating on a lake of fruit punch that if knocked off the stage you have a few seconds to get back on before the Piranhas get you.

N's Castle (Pokémon Stage Wii U or 3DS) I personally think that a stage of Gen 5 of Pokémon is needed so here's what I thought would be the most like location used. The stage is similar to Spear Pillar in design but lacks the bottom tunnel of Spear Pillar. For a majority of the battle Reshiram and Zekrom will be fighting in the background but they will occasionally attack the stage with Fusion Flare and Fusion Bolt. N will also appear in the background watching Reshram and Zekrom battling.

Stone Tower Temple (Legend of Zelda Stage 3DS Stage) Some people are hoping for a Majora's Mask remake so a Majora's Mask stage would be good advertising. There will be two areas that you will fight in. The first area will be the Temples main area with it consisting of several floating platforms over a bottom less pit. There will be a switch that allows you to flip the stage. The second area is the area where you fight Twinrova. this area will be several platforms over the desert floor with ruins in the background. Twinrova will occasionally attack the fighters.

How about a Pushmo stage on the 3DS where Mallo is constantly moving about the stage changing the layout by moving the blocks back and forth? He'd be an indirect stage hazard who could just eat hits and go about his duty.

If someone else already said this my mistake, I didn't go through all 42 previous pages

This is my most wanted and would be a dream come true (I said it in the op of the paper mario thread)

aldelaro5 said:

The theatre from Paper Mario the Thousand-year Door
This is the battle stage you see in Paper Mario the Thousand-year Door when fighting any enemies. Because there's so much stuff that happens in this stage, it has, like Paper Mario a huge potential especially in the hazard department. Here's a list:
  • The audience can throw good (healing items) or bad (damaging items like bones, rocks, cans and hammer)
  • A boo can appear to make a player invisible
  • A shy guy may appear to go offstage and make a projector fall on the player for damage
  • The audience can leave or come randomly. They can also make the audience sleepy and make people run away
  • There's decor in the background and they can fall on the player randomly for damage
  • Fog may appear. It could act like a smoke ball but on the lower part of the stage (and it takes the whole scene)
  • Fireworks may damage player randomly
  • This stage appears with many backgrounds in the game depending on the environment you trigger the battle. This can be translated by having the curtains closing and opening to change the layout of the stage and the background. This can also be a way for boss hazard to appear and damage the player.
As you can see, this stage as so much potential that it's scary. So, why not for ssb4?
Ah, that would be the best hazard fest stage for me :)

Apart from the Smash 64 commercial field, One stage that I'm really hoping to see is a side scrolling Kirby's Return to Dreamland stage that transitions into a dark dimention section or whatever it's called, and the purple void that forces the players to move would act as a mobile wall. but to fit Smash Bros it wouldn't be a crushing hazard anymore, instead it'd deal some damage if a player makes contact with it.

Well to be fair, I think Windy Hill getting in has more to do with it looking just like Green Hill while still keeping up to date with the Sonic games. I wonder what Sonic's 3DS stage would be though if he's getting one cause nothing really sticks out that much from the Advance and Rush games, maybe they'll just pick a stage that was remade on the 3DS version of Generations and use the handheld excuse that's being used for Gerudo Valley, in which case I'd be absolutely fine with either Casino Night, Mushroom Hill or Emerald Coast.

In terms of F-Zero stages I want to see the GX version of Fire Field complete with the cylinder road.

And how exactly do you see "Cylinder Knots" being implemented? I don't see the stage gimmick working nearly as well in Smash as in GX.
It'd be a traveling stage, the traveling platform would circle around the cylinder in an anti-gravity fashion and it'd stop every so often to leave the players on any random side of the cylinder and apart from more F-Zero cars as stage hazards, there were also blue pillars you can crash into on the original stage towards the end, in Smash Bros, those same pillars could act as stage hazards that the travel platform would crash into and any players standing in the spot where the platform is about to take a hit will take a hit as well. The platform can actually take damage from the pillars and start moving a little slower as a result but after that section there's a healing road heading towards the finish line, the travel platform slides along it to repair itself and then the cycle starts over.

That doesn't make Windy Hill less of a terrible choice. People loved Planet Wisp, and there's tons of memorable Sonic levels that he could've used: Planet Wisp, Chemical Plant, City Escape, Rooftop Run...and we get Windy Hill!?

I agree that I would've liked to see something different but what we got is Windy Hill and I respect Sakurai's decision, I may not agree with the reasoning but I do understand why it's there and I'm pretty sure it's not cause it was memorable.

I agree with all that post except respecting Sakurai's decision, he should be called out on his bull**** when it's needed.

You can go do that if you want. I'm just gonna quietly wait for the game to arrive.

As much as I would've preferred something else I do like Windy Hill's design as a Smash Bros stage.
