The SoCal Melee Power Rankings are a roster of our strongest and most competitive players from our region. Their respective ranks are guided by tournament performances, but not solely determined by them.
We do not rank players fresh every period. Their performances are judged relative to their previous rankings, so that a more accurate ranking can occur through a gradual process. Just as Eddy cannot become 9th for losing to Okami, you cannot sky rocket in rank after being ranked 15th unless it is undoubtedly earned.
A player is considered active if the following conditions are met:
- If the said player is ranked during the previous period, he must attend at least 1 tournament.
- If he is not ranked during the previous period, he must attend at least 2 tournaments.
A player will not be directly affected by his attendance if he is considered active by the rule above. However, he will be indirectly affected if players below him perform better in his absence.
Not on the list? Not ranked as high as you wanted? MacD sucks? You better step it up and start beating the players ranked higher than you if you want the prestige of saying you're in SoCal's elite. Now that we have an official PR, and no one is going to agree with every placing, its time for every player who isn't happy with their placing to shake up the Power Rankings and show us what you're made of =D
