I liked the Screen KOs in Melee - I always found Ganondorf's to be hilarious but the Brawl ones were terrible, but these, THESE are on a whole different level.

I think the motivation for this was the 3DS version. I like them a lot. They are just enough to be hilarious and not distracting, any longer and it might have a Nintendog effect.

I know some competitive players aren't fans, but I always enjoy the random element of having the star/screen KOs. In particular, the screen KOs look better than ever and really damn funny.

Nope, the screenshots are from the Wii U version.

Charizard's would be funny, too. Or just imagine R.O.B. Mii's will be a rather satisfying.

I hope each character has his or her own animation. I.e. Zelda, Peach, Rosalina, and Paluteba don't have the same pose.

I also do see people claiming "I was killed because I couldn't see my character as your character hit the screen!"

I remember that I used to scream that all the time I landed a Star KO on someone back when I played Melee first time. Seconding.

Also Zelda made me piss my pants. I guess the funniest part is that everyone has potential to look absolutely dopey, even serious and collected royalties or cosmic rulers like Zelda or Rosalina. Damn you SSB's sense of humor!

What I find really impressive is that they've animated part of alternate costumes too, it seems.

Some of these remind me of Street Fighter 4's Ultra Combos; when the Ultra starts the screen freezes and the other character's eyes bug out. I think the giggle I make for both of these is the same lol.
