How often do you guys smash? I am up here in Alameda and am looking for a smash fix. I haven't played melee since Brawl's release, and thus am rusty, but would not mind playing a bit of melee if I find the time.

we play several times a week, if youre ever in the area. But there are alot of people that play that'r closer to you ^^.

we used to play like 2-3 times a week, plus tournaments on weekends (mostly just me and sheridan actually)

this quarter hasn't been quite as active, but we're gonna play tonight hopefully
most of us are down to play quite often
truman, crowing, and doped up still hold it down on-campus, even if i'm gone on the weekends
i wanna play again tonight, at like 7, with beto and sheridan as well


but if you're in alameda, you're better off playing with the other 510 smashers (darrell, hayward/oakland guys) or even going up to sf, there are a lot of people there

of course, if you're in santa cruz, it's not like we'll refuse you or anything

Yeah, Alameda isn't really a quick drive away from Santa Cruz.

On a side note, it was raining so hard this morning. It rains every tues/thur morning when I have my 8 am class. Finding a bus that isn't completely packed is pretty tough when it is pouring.

the way i figure

put it in 1p fixed camera mode, and work yourself into sort of a frenzy drilling your moves and getting them really smooth. work on tiny routines you come up with on the spot, whatever you think about doing, try to do it (and optimize it). also try out new techniques here

then move up to computers, try to think of openings where the new things you learned would work (don't spam too much, pretend more like you're actually playing them)

then up to people who are worse than you, i guess

then eventually you'll be able to do it whenever




that's my take on it, anyways
and practice at least once every 2 days, so you don't fall off
