ULTRA ARCADE WEEKLIES​

Ultra Arcade will be hosting events once a week, every Sunday unless posted otherwise. Any additional info can be found in the Smash 4 Facebook group linked above. For more insight into Ultra Arcade, you can visit the main website by clicking here.

The location as of 1/31/15 will be at Otaku Cafe. It just opened this January and could become the permanent location for the weeklies.

Venue Fee: $5 (waived if you bring a full setup)

1. LOS Weekly’s will be implementing an ELO system for rankings. After every weekly the bracket will be submitted and the updated ranking will be posted. These rankings will provide seeding for all future weekly’s and potentially monthly’s.

2. Weekly’s will be organized into 4 month seasons.

3. At the end of a season, one final tournament will be held. All of the collective entry fees taken throughout the season (50% of each weekly) will be the pot. This means the pot will be dependent on how many entrants there are throughout the entire season.

4. The final tournament will be for the top10 ranked players from the ELO Rankings. The players must also have entered at least 50% of the weekly’s in that season to enter the final tournament. This means that players can’t travel to 2-3 weekly’s only to farm enough points to get into the final tournament.

5. If a player in the top10 rankings cannot enter the final tournament (due to >50% of weekly’s entered or for personal reasons), the next player in line will replace them. (Rank 11 from the ELO Rankings and so on)

6. The bracket format for the Final Tournament will be seeded like this: link

7. Venue is not yet confirmed, but I am looking potentially at a movie theater.

8. Seasons (4 month periods):

• January-April
• May-August
• September-December

General Rules

• Game Settings: 3 Stocks, 8 Minute Time Limit
• Miis must have a “1111” moveset and a “medium” weight.
• Items are disabled.
• Accidental pausing mid match forfeits a stock.
• You may not choose any stage you have won on during a set, unless agreed by both players.
• A tie is determined by most stocks, and then if still tied, by percentage. If percentage is tied, the match is fully replayed.

• Friendly Fire enabled
• Life stealing stocks from a teammate is allowed

Match Procedure

• Players select their characters. Either player may choose to Blind Pick. In this case, each player secretly tells a third player their character before picking with the third player verifying their selections.
• Players play Rock-Paper-Scissors. Winner chooses between selecting controller port or first Stage Strike
• Players take turns removing stages from the Neutral Stages list above based upon the results of the previous rule. The first player to strike removes one(1) stage from the list, the second player removes two(2), and the first player then chooses from the remaining two(2) stages.
• The players play the first match of the set.
• Winning player of the preceding match bans 2 stages from the full list of stages, both Neutral and Counter-Pick.
• The Losing player of the preceding match picks a stage for the next match. Cannot choose the stage banned in the previous step, nor a stage they've already won on during this set, unless agreed.
• The winning player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
• The losing player of the preceding match may choose to change characters.
• The next match is played
• Repeat Steps 5 through 9 for all subsequent matches until the set is complete.

In the next few months I will be purchasing a large amount of tv's so that we will always have setups, but that will take a little more time. Everybody please bring setups if possible!!! The more setups we have, the quicker the tourney will run and we can have more time for friendlies.

Too bad the WiFi the RV park has doesn't work, and even when it does it sucks horribly anyways, and the internet we have personally we have set-up to only be wired, though even then I would only be able to get on and play at midnight so as not to eat up gigs, but as far as I know the 3DS can't be wired.

I prettied up the first post a bit. For everyone from the Brawl thread and all of the new faces for Smash 4, getting whatever info the chart needs would be nice. I just guessed the mains for the Brawl community here, so those are open to change.
