One thing I have noticed though, is that some stage textures, most commonly ones for Smashville and the Results screen, and those that require .rel files, refuse to load unless you have these stage files also placed under:

X:/brawlmods/stages

Does this ("this" is a hyperlink if you cannot tell) relate to your CSS problem? As for your stage problem, does it freeze on the stage selection screen and not load them at all?
No, not really, I know I'm replacing it correctly and my problem is that the lower half of my CSS isn't working properly. My SSS works fine, and my CSS loads fine, it only doesn't work properly. I have tried reconstructing my GCT and the problem still arose. As for my stage problem, this was fixed by a later post, apparently the xml I use requires the stage in two different places, so I guess as long as it works it really doesn't matter to me (I have an 8GB SD card I use for Riivolution). So I guess will I just have to use a CSS that is configured normally if owrst comes to worst and there is no solution, but it seems increidbly odd that this should be occuring...

Hey guys, I'm using Bionic Sonic's Brawl Mod Launcher v2.1. When I press the launch button on Riivolution, the screen goes black and that is that. I am on wii 4.0 and I have installed the cIOS. Here is a screen shot on how my folders are arranged.

I do not know what is wrong.

I having some difficulties with Riivolution and Ocarina codes.

I tried using codes with the codehandler.bin and XML, the result were:
No codes worked, they did not seem to get loaded. All codes were PAL.
I did rename the gct file to riivolution.

This is the XML file:

Coulored shields work, all characters, all stages, all trophies and all stickers all works. But unrestricet pause camera freezes the game when I press start and infinte replay and tags in replay do not work(might cause freezing too)

Texture hacks and all file replacement work great. I have a PAL wii with Riivolution 1.03 and wii system menu 4.2E. I've followed all instructions I could find about getting Ocarina codes working but so far everything has failed. Everything is also in their correct folders.

I've also replaced my save file incase it was corrupted.

Any suggestions of what might help me? would be very appreciated, thank you.

Okay, even though I only downloaded the normal flaming blue css (the one with supposedly NO modifications outside of textures) it was incredibly screwed up; all of the CSS icons were jumbled up. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong, or why hacks that shouldn't even be messing up are doing so?

PAL or ntsc?

TSON's File Patch XML from the front page should work I guess, If you are PAL you can try the one I posted in mine. Just have the unrestricted camera gct in the codes folder

Okay well I've justs recently switched from gecko to riivo and are countering some issues. My custom music, CSS, and textures aren't showing up. I have everything enabled, already installed riivo, they only worked for a day but then i switched my outer folders with my brawl- stuff and it should still work right? Because i thought the outer folders were only gecko files and everything in the riivo folder is the riivo and now its not working. Also my wii/tv goes to a black screen when i use the hook's, dunno if it means anything because i disabled it but i thought i might point that out. Can anyone please help with my codes not working problem?

EDIT: More information that might help since i noticed no one is responding <_< : Okay so it only goes to that black screen when i enable any of the hooks under the riivolution selection screen. When I disable the hook none of my codes work. This is really it and i hope someone can help me. Thanks. :)
Anyone please? I'm using Bionic's Mod Launcher (newest version) btw.

Riivolution is using the SD card, so Brawl itself can't. If you want to save replays, you could run Riivolution from USB (I plug in an SD card reader) and put another card in the SD slot.

1.Do you have codehandler.bin under sd/riivolution?
2.put the sc_chaacter.pac and sc_selmap.pac inside the common5.pac and it'll work

Tson's file patch, i did do this, but the only thing that worked was the stupid menu space background... WTF!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?
Mind explaining what your problem is please?

Well for one, i try and follow tson's mod launcher thing precisely, i put everything in it place. but i truly don't understand what is going on. i put the textures in the root of the "brawlmods" folder and put all things according to their, now all i got to working was sound/thp's/music.

i want my css/csp/sss/ssp to work/PSA/textures to work i don't understand the whole thing its like he expects us to know what we are doing.

i'm confused i'm using Custom1 because i don't do the other things,

and it doesn't work, i got a menu to work so far, music/sounds/thp's.

i put the things in the root of the brawlmods folder.

where would i put the PSA in the fighter folder in custom 1, or the textures folder?

the explenations are super ***ue, its like playing metroid for the nes without the book, or the nintendo power guide.

EDIT

stages work now

psa works/textures. the only thing that doesn't work in the sss/items.

Well, I decided to update to 4.3 so I can play Metroid: Other M on its release (I don't want to use NeoGamma tbh). I reinstalled Homebrew and Riivolution back up, which is all good.

However, I'm lost on how I got Riivolution on the system menu. I don't really want to load it off from Homebrew since I don't want to wait long for Homebrew and Riivolution to load. I remember getting the older Riivolution version from my Mario Kart hacks, but I don't remember exactly how I got it. I was told to just click install (or just install) Riivolution, but where?

This is optional btw, although if someone can help me, this can really help me save my time. xD

If you start up riivolution through homebrew, there should be an install option on the right side of the screen.

Alright, I'm having some issues with Bionic Sonic's loader. I'm a noob at this so please bear with me. So here's how my card is set up.

(Root):\brawlmods\brawlplus

Now here's where I run into problems. In my brawlplus folder, I have info, info2, menu, pfmenu2, and system folders. Basically, I used the old way people loaded codes from an SD card and copy pasted according to the instructions. However, strap textures aren't loading and neither are menu textures. Is this because they absolutely HAVE to go into the textures folder? Because they're Brawl+ specific and I only want them to appear when I'm playing Brawl+.

My second problem is that the Brawl+ pac files don't seem to load. I have them with textures at the moment, but that doesn't seem quite right to me.

Any help will be appreciated.

Bionic's loader has a line for each file it expects Brawl+ to have. My guess is the strap loader isn't one of them. Try adding this line to the Brawl+ section of the XML:
Code:
<file external="/brawlmods/brawlplus/menu/strap/StrapEn.pac" disc="/menu/strap/StrapEn.pac"/>
This is from memory, so it might not be completely accurate.

Is there any hack that generally advances the CPU's level of play? I remember my friend telling me he had hacks that made the CPU's a lot tougher, but i could not find it.

Oh, well, I am having problems with custom CSPs with Riivolution+Brawl+.

My common5.pac is placed in the right folder (the default settings, ...Pf/System/).

No empty sc_character.pac priorizing Common5

No freezing, it's in the size limit. It just doesn't loads any CSPs.

I am loading with Brawl+ codeset, in gecko, it never loaded CSPs too. It didn't loaded the color changing menu also.

With riivolution the menu loads, but not the CSP nor the Sc-Title.pac that loaded with gecko.

Would that be the lack of specification about these files in the XML file like with the sc_title?

Is it possible to merge the PAC i have for each Brawl+ character with a PAC of my own? I mean, rather than just adding my own PAC and leaving it named "Fit[someone]##.PAC (2) "
Like, combine them so that they both function as the same PAC?

I am using the xml that comes with Brawl+ for riivolution, comes with the updater downlodable in their site www.smashmods.com.

At least for every other thing, the place it has to be is the same with gecko.
sc_character and sc_title go into common5.pac
i believe that's your problem

Yes but it's time consuming unless you know what you're doing

Answer me these.

Did you have an existing installation before update?

What System Menu do you have?

Just a minor thing. I noticed that the blue light comes on a lot in this new version....

This update provides behind-the-scenes fixes that will not affect features but will improve the overall system performance.

I have two problems with Riivolution when loading Brawl:

1. (Not all the time) but sometimes a low frame rate and interlaced during the intro and strap warning.

2. The aspect ratio is screwed up. The screen cuts off.

I'm trying to install riivolution on my wii for the first time and I'm getting an error. It initializes the network successfully, but I get an error when trying to download contents. (Error -1). After three tries (and 3 error -1's), it then says Error retrieving TMD. (Error 0) and that the installation did not complete successfully.

I'm using the latest version of riivolution (V. 1.04) and have firmware V.4.1U. Anyone know what my problem is?
