The only reason he could get in, being a Taguel, could already be covered by his mother (who you are required to encounter), so he's as doomed as he says he is.

Hoo boy. As predicted Yarne's doing poorly. I understand; I was like this with Owain before I played the game. Looks like it's my favourite Awakening character's turn to feel the heat.

Let's be clear here. Yarne has NO chance. NONE. ZERO of being added. He's an unimportant side character in the latest Fire Emblem game that has three protagonists fighting out for the spot of playable Awakening rep; Chrom, Lucina and Robin. Yarne is actually more interesting than all three of these guys both in terms of uniqueness and terms of personality, but sadly that doesn't help his chance. I'd love him as an Assist Trophy but at best we may get a sticker of him. At best. Not even a trophy.

He's no Roy, he's no Chrom, he's no Ike or Marth either...he sadly has no place within Smash.

Yup. Yarne's my favourite unit from Fire Emblem Awakening due to his cowardly persona, his fear of dying(very much matching my fear of letting any of my units die within the game) and the fact he turns into a monster bunny and kicks serious ass. He's a coward with supreme power, and in general this is the sort of character I like; Toad, Luigi and to some extent Yoshi(scared of Boos) being fellow Nintendo powerful cowards. The fact that despite his fear he continues to battle on to aid his friends is a trait I genuinely admire in any character, and Yarne's personification of Fire Emblem's gimmick pretty much cemented a special place in my heart for the last Taguel.

Yarne has some of the best crit liners "NO; YOU GO EXTINCT!" and his interactions with his far calmer mother, Panne(who seems to hardly care she's the last of her kind; a weird reaction) at times come off as some of the most entertaining interactions I personally experienced within the game.
I cannot stress enough that he is a fairly entertaining character and those of you who have not yet had the chance to play Fire Emblem Awakening, please do so.

He's also not a lord with a sword, a blandy mcswordsman or an unlikable sociopathic stalker like Tharja, so there's those in his favour too for me.

Not a Nintendo All Star though, and thus not someone I'd consider Smash worthy, but certainly a good character overall.

Interesting retro choice, doubt it'll do well here. On Smashboards it's Takamaru or bust for retro. MAYBE Lip is an acceptable answer here too. MAYBE.

There is absolutely zero reason whatsoever to even consider the remote possibility of including Yarne in Smash. He's a minor, skippable, not even popular character that doesn't affect the main plot of his game whatsoever.
Want - 80% - But he could be so cool as a Taguel, and he's one of my favorite Awakening characters! Up there with Sveta of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn in terms of dream characters that would never be playable in Smash but would be awesome to play as if they were.

Some random employee or the Director of the game start speaking nosense and tell Sakurai that Yarne was the S...t and nothing can top that character, hearing this Sakurai decides to add Yarne. This is the only explanation in how I can see Yarne added to Smash.

I'd say possibly we might need to reevaluate Lucina, but perhaps it's just them putting the most recent information about Marth.
So, yes to Lucina, because her chances are now likely shot, no to Chrom, because he's still got the Blue-Lord-With-A-Sword Factor, in terms of reevaluation. That's my opinion.

marth is now being used to promote the game that chrom or Lucina, was suppose to fill, now seeing that spot a has been filled, that makes it a significant decrease to both of them, but not only that but also raises the chances of ike and roy also, because their strongest competition, just got hurt badly, increaseing their chances.
i say that we should revote for fire emblem main reps, that isn't marth (sorry guys now your kinda sick of fire emblem by now) but that is my take on things
