Today is July 11 in Japan, which was also the same day Satoru Iwata died in 2015.

It's hard to believe two years have already passed since his death. He has done so much for Nintendo that it still feels sad that he is absent from this world, but we know he's in an happier place now and is watching over all of us from there.

Rest in peace, Iwata. You will never be forgotten.:(

Seems as if his tactic of saying something regularly to create belief in its credibility is backfiring on him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do believe we will see increased third-party support for the Switch in the future. I'd wager that initially the third-parties were hesitant to support the system given how many times they'd been burned in the past, which makes sense. They were waiting to see if it'd be a viable platform. I think if the Switch hasn't proven that it is yet, it certainly will by year's end. And I think starting next year, we'll see support that reflects that.

However, I don't imagine we'll end up receiving a level of non-indie third-party support that people speculated we'd receive around the time Nintendo released that "development partner" third-party slide, around the Switch reveal. It's never going to be particularly substantial. I think if you mix the light volume of multiplats a successful yet "underpowered" console gets mixed with the typical exclusives designated to handheld consoles, that's around what the Switch will receive.
I agree with your thoughts on what we can expect for third-party support. On that note for multi-platform titles on the Switch, I think we may see more Japanese third-party ports than Western ports (outside of sports). Konami may bring over their Pro Evolution Soccer game (they already made a decent-selling Bomberman game on the Switch, so this seems like the next logical step for supporting the Switch outside of a new Bomberman game). I also see substantial effort from Bandai Namco (for one, I expect to see a Dragon Ball FightersZ port next year) and more from Capcom (Ace Attorney and Monster Hunter for sure) since they were the ones who said to add more RAM to the Switch.
First to say I do think Switch needs third party support, most important I have check many video on Youtube from my favorite Youtube going back and forth about whether third party support is import for Switch or not. My stance is they need to come but shouldn't be like the Wii U when it first launched, most of those third party game were rushed and eventually didn't sell well. Also it was hard to develop games on the Wii U.
I especially think those saying Switch will fail due to no third party support is an utterly dumb statement, Switch does get third party support already, just not on the scale where new upcoming games are coming to Switch and on par with PS4 and Xbox One. I just think they are just jump the gun too often.
While I personally don't think Switch will eventually those common third party titles like Call Of Duty, Overwatch, Grand Thef Auto etc. I think as long as Switch receives third party exclusives like how the 3DS is will be just fine.
My question is on your last statement "Nintendo loses badly every time they do not come.", it isn't always the case if you know Nintendo hasn't get that good third party support ever since N64, sure Nintendo "lost" to Sony but it still manage to sell over 30 million. Wii however was something entirely, Wii U you can say lack of third party was the key failure but there were other reasons why Wii U didn't sell well. And then if you look at 3DS this nearly against that statement, 3DS didn't get that much third party support but it still beat Vita with a huge margin.

Edit: and I dd post again...
Not to sound rude, but please space out your paragraphs. When you do not do so, you make your contents harder to read.

On topic, the problem with Wii U third-party efforts early on was that they did not just rushed third-party games, they rushed ports. With few exceptions, those will not sell as well as better ports for Sony and Microsoft's consoles. That said, Ubisoft does have a history of putting out respectable efforts on Nintendo platforms though. After Rabbids, I am curious to see what Ubisoft comes up with for future games on Nintendo platforms, especially if they are exclusives.

It is not true that Nintendo does not ever get good third-party support since the Nintendo 64 (and on that note, would have sold less than the GameCube had it not been for successful marketing efforts in North America). As far as consoles go, the Wii's third-party support was a lot better than what people give it credits for (at least in the first four years). Wii received a lot of mid-tier third-party games and plenty of exclusives (and not just rushed party games) sold well on the system. If it has not already, history will see Wii's third-party support as having a lot of hidden gems. Going into handhelds, the GBC, GBA, and DS all had great third-party support. Even on the 3DS, Japanese third-party companies like Namco Bandai, Capcom, Atlus, and Square Enix all gave respectable efforts on the platform so while it was not as good, it was hardly horrible.

I actually just realized that Japan is always one day ahead of us (I woke up about 20 minutes ago). Either way, the fact its been 2 years since Iwata passed away is still so shocking and I continue to miss him to this day among a lot of other gamers who grew up with the games he made. But like he always said, he wanted to see everyone happy, rather then sad or angry, and I want to try and keep moving forward with a positive feeling as Iwata would of wanted. He did leave behind a great legacy with the Switch, and I imagine he's happy to see people enjoying the console that he helped develop, be it with families, friends, or just other people in general. That's what Iwata wanted to see overall; everyone connected together as gamers, with happy feelings to go around.

RIP Iwata; as Erureido Erureido said, you will never be forgotten in our hearts.

I remember that was the day I bought Xenoblade Chronicles 3D while I was out in San Francisco. Boy did hearing that news really ruin my day.

(Sniff) I'm still not over it at all to be honest. (Starts crying)

The Nintendo Switch Reddit has gotten pretty borin'
At this point I've been going there, realizing it's hit a dull-as-bricks spell, and then clicking onto the link to the Splatoon Reddit that picked up a bit after Pearl and Marina were shown off.

. . .But mostly I just check r/WritingPrompts to see if anything interesting story concepts have popped up and gotten some attention.

The superhero bounty one looked neat, as did the "reincarnation bounty hunter" one. :p

A part of me is still in disbelief that Mr. Iwata is no longer with us.

I still remember the day the news was passed onto the public. There was a lot of shock and sadness in the gaming community that day.

He was a great man. Rest in peace, Satoru Iwata. You'll be missed, but you won't be forgotten.

Nah, that's ok, if you are viewing on mobile it does get harder to read...

It's just in WWE 2K18 is going to be on Switch, Switch once again has the games that come every year... hope we can get the big games soon.

It is not true that Nintendo does not ever get good third-party support since the Nintendo 64 (and on that note, would have sold less than the GameCube had it not been for successful marketing efforts in North America). Well, you can't deny that N64 was the one of least popular Nintendo console in Japan...
Wii's third party support did went well after many of them saw the popularity of motion controls, this also leads to the problem of even though Wii has plenty of hidden gems, there was also more of crappy shuffle wares mostly just for riding on the motion control fad... which was exactly what happened when my cousin help us get Wii games via ...illegal download to CD and then boot up by mod channel... as you would have guessed, my cousins, my parents have no taste when it comes to games, they give us a stack of CD mostly contains Wii shuffle ware. They didn't download Galaxy 1 & 2, Brawl, Xenoblade, Zelda, or even Kirby... Need for Speed Carbon, M & S at the Olympic Games was probably the few games that I enjoy.

That's why we later tried to get the games by ourselves but we found games don't work...

@Shishœ
I recently watched Kill La Kill up to episode 16
Watching Matoi transform everytime is both cool but also a bit embarrassing to watch at first, later I was unfortunately used to it...
I have listened to Kill La Kill's Ost before watching the anime, they were good but also found some soundtracks used a bit too often, and very predictable. Like whenever Blumenkraz starts I can tell it's the appearance of Ragyo Kiryuin... and man now I know why she often compares with Lusamine...

Also I have seen Matoi and Litten's crossover pic before too:

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (still need to play through the original and X)
As for now just go and play the original one first plot wise. You'll be fine without playing X (Still recommend you to play it though)

With that said, Takahashi did say 2 won't have any connection to the first game's story.

So has Nintendo ever confirmed if the Splatoon 2 Splatfest demo data can be transferred to the full game?

If not, that would be a total waste getting all those experience, cash, and Super Sea Snails you get.

Brock and Misty are trending on Twitter and apparently it's because a lot folks didn't know the new movie wouldn't have them.

Is it bad that the first thing I thought of when I saw that was some Star Vs. the Forces of Evil shipping comic that I saw gosh knows where and don't even know how I stumbled across?

I don't even know how I'd be able to find it, but it ran off of the same premise with the branching point being which ship Marco went with and the kids were fighting over which one would actually happen IIRC.

Nah, that's not bad.

Feel like there's two main jumping points from that prompt, and "Which ship?" is one of em.

Other being "Which kid?"

They're not mutually exclusive, depending on just how :4robinm::4robinf: you want to get.

I'm currently playing Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. I was battling Sunnyside and the game froze because Baby Luigi was carrying Luigi away. Sunnyside started revving up for an attack but there was no one for him to attack, so the game froze...

A thought regarding Satoru Iwata and other noteworthy people's passing, don't you believe it is better to make tributes to them on their day of birth rather than their day of decease?

After beating the Claptrap DLC in Borderlands TPS, I have a **** ton more respect for Claptrap.

Jesus. I won't spoil it but the ending hits hard, despite the fact you already knew what happened in Bl2.

That they're remembered is the key thing, I think.

But their day of death tends to stir up a lot more emotions and memories.

That's typically the day the gravity of what was lost really sets in for most people.

Is it just the cafe part of the cafe, or is it both the cafe and the attic?
Right now its the cafe part. I plan on doing the attic also but I need the right items for it like the chocolate fountain. Speaking of that, can you shoot me a picture of the attic for reference
