If the rest of the missing things are on the 2nd layer, then the following missing music should be on there as well. It'd be a little odd to remove 45 pieces of music & not rename the remaining tracks.

They're on the game disc, it's probably true.

Doc, Roy, Mewtwo, Plusle/Minun, Dixie and Toon Zelda/Sheik (Tetra) are in the coding for Brawl. They are roughly the same size file as Sheik.

They are not complete characters, they are just in the code, under characters. They still need moves, textures, sounds and Kirby hats.

The file for them to be complete would be small enough to be on the VC. They would need place holders if they wanted to allow these characters to be downloaded, just as Pokemon does (kind of). We have place holders. There is room on the character selection screen.

Now onto music coding.
Within the music, there are 3 unknown songs. 2 are "New Features" the other is oddly named "Purchase"
Purchase, as in buy. 2 unknown features and purchase. Sounds like something is buried in the game to be prepared for something...

Downloadable content has been something people have wanted for Brawl since they announced WiFi. It would allow lots of money if they charged like 5$ a character.

I'm not sure, but so many coincidences are pointing to a feature people wanted, Nintendo would want, and would work. 3 vets, 3 newcomers. It's an equal number each. That is also a huge coincidence.

I don't know exactly what they are planning, but I wouldn't give up on some of the vets just yet.

Wrong. In Melee, if you tried to access Tamagon in some versions, you'd get a Mario trophy.

Also, you can force Akaneia, Ice Top, and DUMMY to be playable.

So it is possible.
Do not forget ditto was blocked off in the pokeball section but was still there in the coding.

Wait...why is Shiek only 128 Mb/b whatever the type it is? Shiek's a full character, no? So could there be data hidden on the disc we haven't found?

That's interesting. Just the fact that the bare coding for these characters is still on the disc should work to support the idea.

We'd all love to see DLC, but Nintendo has been really quiet on it since 06. Maybe they'll take more initiative toward it this year and start with Brawl.

Good find on the word "purchase" in music coding. I really hope they offer DLC....as long as its not super expensive.

Oh well, for Smash I'd pay for it.

It would be pretty awesome.
:]

Too bad theres no Geno code and Isaac was confirmed an AT.

But hey, Mewtwo and Roy will be better I bet, and Plusle and Minun will be like Pikachu iceclimbers, they may suck in they're game but they sound awesome for Brawl.

I still find it shocking that we lost ATs. Duster and Sothe were confirmed by so many sources, and it wasn't just poor translation.

I found this over at Brawl Central

As of right now, it is just speculation whether this guy is a troll or telling the truth, I wan't to believe him at the moment, but it just doesn't settle at the moment, after already being let down.

Nintendude said:
Some points I'd like to make and more information....

1. How do you know I wasn’t ASKED to do this on purpose for marketing purposes? I’m not that stupid.
2. Most of the characters to be released don't already exist in Brawl as an Assist Trophy, Boss, Trophy, etc.
3. If you need evidence, wait until late March/early April. There will be post-Brawl polls on the Nintendo website after the release asking what people liked and didn’t like about Brawl. Europe will also get these polls once the game is released.
4. Characters will not be the only new factors put in.
5. The characters have not been implimented based on any fan polls or desires; the staff chose them based on their own criteria.

If you want further proof, I've noticed some clever people have found traces of additional characters in the encoding. Some of those characters will be additional costumes, others will be fully playable. Most of them are costumes/alternate characters.

That's all I know of for now.

Um if Krystal, were to be a costume change, wouldn't that mean that she would have Fox's voice, imagine being up kicked off the screen by Krystal, and then hear Fox's Taunt Come on

I PMed this to someone and I guess they haven't read it yet. I thought I'd post it so everyone would know what I was thinking:
I do not have the game rip in my hands as of now. However I had an interesting thought I believe those of you looking at the disk could check.
As far as my knowledge goes, characters like Doc, Roy, Mewtwo, etc and unused characters do not have models but just general coding or placeholders of some sort. I have read they are the same size as the sheik file while the zelda file is abnormally large.
Now, here is my thought with all that in mind: Nintendo decided to stick the models and other coding for those characters in clone files. I would check the Mario, Lucario, Marth, and other files that could use these other characters as costumes, and see if their model files are larger or not. I was thinking they would be about the size of Wario's model files since Wario has two costumes that could require two models.
I was thinking the Mario, Marth, and Lucario for example could carry the Doc, Roy, and Mewtwo models respectively. I thought this would be something to chew on for you, because the developers would not be so lazy to just leave some unnecessary files in. That would be wasteful.
So folks, how about that? Has anyone checked the "clones" files to see if they have extra costume potential?

In more readable terms, it would look like this...
R.O.B.
Meta Knight
Fox
Falco
Pit
Lucas
Ness
Sonic
Link
Snake
Pikmin & Olimar
King Dedede
Kirby
Zelda
Lucario
Ivysaur
Ike
Zero Suit Samus
Peach
Wolf
Jigglypuff
Marth
Bowser
Samus
Toon Link
Pikachu
Captain Falcon
Yoshi
Diddy Kong
Charizard
Wario
Donkey Kong
Mario
Pokemon Trainer
Squirtle
Ganondorf
Ice Climbers (Popo)
Luigi
Dixie Kong, Dr. Mario, Mr. Game & Watch, Giga Bowser, Mewtwo, Ice Climbers (Nana), Plusle & Minun, Roy, Sheik, Toon Sheik, Toon Zelda, Wario-Man, Fighting Alloys
Now assuming that this list is accurate, then we should assume that Zelda, Bowser, and Wario are hosting most of the files for Sheik, Giga Bowser, and Wario-Man respectfully. Notice which characters on the list are close by TO Zelda, Bowser, and Wario...

R.O.B, Meta Knight, Fox, Falco, and Pit are the characters with the most info in the effects.
Lucario (who is most likely to double for Mewtwo) is only 2080 less than Zelda.
Marth (who is most likely to double for Roy) is 608 more than Bowser
Diddy (who is most likely to double for Dixie) is 3360 more than Wario
Mario (who is most likely to double for Dr. Mario) is 6880 less than Wario.

What this means is that the seven could only really need a Kirby Hat, a Final Smash, and being unlocked to be playable! It's definately worth investigating!

Yes it would. What happens when a program of any kind tries to access something that's not there? An error occurs. If it's just a small error and it's a computer program, there might just be a window telling you of the error. What happens when it's a console game and the game continually tries to access the content? It crashes.
My point is that if the program no longer has the ability to try to access something that was once there, but isn't any longer it won't cause the it to crash. And it's not difficult to stop the program from attempting to access it.

Wow... This really is odd. They are relatively big files. Why would they be on the disk if they're not used in some way? It wouldn't have taken any effort to remove them.

It would, if you've ever developed a game in a team you may know that removing a single part may ruin the whole game!

I can't imagine Toon Zelda and Shiek/Tetra or Plusle and Minun for being just costumes since they are shorter than their originals, and their is a sound on the Disc by the narrator who calls out Mewtwo's name. And Lucario is hardly even a Luigified clone of Mewtwo, they only share some moves, like Dedede shares some with Kirby

Do you think that, maybe ,they had made their skins already but neglected to finish their character file?

Maybe they left the files on the cd for some reason.....

They wouldn't just put those files on there to take up space, would they.

@yourfacehere:
I take it you did not notice that the last post made in this thread was in Febuary.

P.S. Double posting is also a big no-no.

Mini moding I see.
I thought that was frowned upon too.

It makes no difference to me , I just was interested in this thread and decided to post in it.

I double posted by accident it's not as if I'm going to flood the board with posts.
