Now I have two licenses at 9999 vs. rating, so I can resume playing with my old license. I don't think I'll be playing a lot in random continental or worldwide races though, playing GPs with people on your friend list is so much better.

The tournament Jigglymaster is hosting is amazing fun by the way, too bad group 2 flaked pretty much in its entirety. I'll be ready for the final next weekend.

S***. Would of joined the tourney if I hadn't gone out of town this weekend.

Oh well, maybe the next time. Anyway, the new guys I added haven't added me yet. So if you add me, just PM me so I can keep track of FC and delete the inactive ones.

Hey, Im getting Mario Kart Wii tomorrow and am going to be asking for your FC's pretty soon. :). But I just noticed alot of you are from America or Europe. Im in Australia so will this have any noticeable lag when versing you?

I once got in a worldwide race vs 6 folks from Japan and 3 from Australia, along with 2 from Europe, and there was no lag for me at all really. The race took very slightly longer to actually load than other races, but during the race itself, there was no lag at all.

Edit: Probably worth mentioning that I'm in England :p So yeah, considerable distance, not much lag.

Ohh your dead right, there is no lag at all during online play. Im very pleased with Nintendo. I really thought it was going to be bad, but turned out really good!

I won't post my FC just yet, cause I need to get better, lol. The steering wheel really ways you down, I tend to get better results when using classic controller.

You know what stuns me (in a positive way) the most of this game? The fact that while some vehicles are nearly realistic, other ones are totally wacky!

Now I realize that this exploit is quite game breaking, so everyone please read this before saying anything, since many people believe that this will ruin playing online.

People are misunderstanding this exploit. Let me clear some things up.
1. The exploit is very difficult. I've yet to successfully do it. Getting the angle to get on the rock is hard enough. Then you have to follow a certain path once on the rock for the exploit to work.
2. Time trial is different from normal races. As I said, the angle to get on the rock is near impossible to get. In time trial, you start in the same spot every time. In normal races, you do not. In time trial, you also start with three mushrooms. In a normal race, you would have to get a mushroom, get to that spot, set up the near-impossible angle, and hope you get it right the first time.

I don't see how it could possibly ruin playing online. It's only on grumble volcano. In addition, there is all the reasons mentioned in the quote.

OK,n00b question but:
How do I get a Star Rank?I REALLY want Bowser Jr.
Your final ranking at the end of each Grand Prix is almost entirely (maybe even entirely) based off the percentage of time you were in 1st place. Keeping that in mind you don't even need to place 1st each race. If your using automatic, your going to need to get accustomed to using Manual.

Bowser Jr. is unlocked by getting atleast a star ranking in the 4 retro cups in 100cc Grand Prix.

The ranks also have a lot to do with how much you go offroad. Just try getting 3 stars in Banana Cup by using Magikruiser and going through the water all the time. I couldn't manage it. When I went around that track the "normal" way I got the 3 star rank no problem.

Thats interesting. You'd think that using a mushroom through the grass as a shortcut would be beneficial?

No, but the mini-turbos help you maintain your lead.
Ah, that makes sense. The AI in this game is really inconsistent though. I know there a little rubberbanding, but sometimes it doesn't seem to exist. I've lapped the last place racer with Auto and the Cheep Charger, and a separate time, on the same cc and track, I barely won by a second with Manual and the Flame Runner.

Yes, using items to go through off-road sections is OK and doesn't negatively affect your rank. Just don't go offroad without any items, even if it actually is faster.
