Dark Pit isn't really. But then again, neither is Wario. And Dedede hasn't been a villain in a long time.

I just remembered that they could have used Bowser Jr. He's defintely a villain

Honestly I don't consider Dedede a villain at all at this point (Kirby Triple Deluxe saw us SAVING the guy - and no, there is no "I WAS THE BAD GUY ALL ALONG" twist). Dark Pit is also an Anti-Hero, but considering Wario is also an Anti-Hero, both Dark Pit and Meta Knight could have worked for the Bad Guy team.

And even back when DeDeDe was a villain,it was more mischief for the most part anyway,so he was kind of a 'bad guy' not a villain strictly.

In the movie, Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, Greninja was used by one of the movie's antagonists. And since Greninja is a Water/Dark-type Pokemon, that may explain its inclusion into the bad guys category.
