Hold on a sec, I don't even want the US to win this world cup. My nationality has nothing to do with this. I honestly believe after watching this game that they DID deserve to win it, and the fact that the ref didn't call that many fouls is appalling to me

There were DEFINITELY some penalties that were clearly ignored by the refs, but its really the lack of review in soccer that occasionally kills its fairness.

USA never played 90 minutes of soccer. They would play cruddy, suddenly wake up, and then sometimes go cruddy again. USA would be such a better team if they played the entire time.

I'm looking forward to the games tomorrow. Late, but I'm still planning on waking up and watching the Germany England game.

Also, wtf @ people expecting Argentina to destroy Mexico. Mexico is like the hardest opponent Argentina could've gotten in this world cup and Argentina traditionally struggles against Mexico - more than against many European and South American teams.

I wouldn't expect Argentina to destroy them at all.

Not saying Argentina isn't more likely to win. Just want to pump in the breaks when people talk about "destroying". Mexico is also one of the few teams that were consistently playing convincing football so far in this world cup (even when they didn't win) and Argentina was also on a roll in 2006 and still had to go into overtime against Mexico.

Ozel is getting all the plaudits but Schweinsteiger is their key player, he just dictates their play and keeps everything ticking. He's impressed me. Used to play on the right but shifted to the centre and it's paid off for the Germans.
