The only guy I ever used Zen Headbutt for was Rampardos.

I like the idea of Psycho Cut, Mega Mewtwo X is part fighting and I think he gets a attack boost which is why I'm getting a Mild nature instead of a Modest nature this time.

I think Mewtwo's mega evolution with a powerful move would be a final smash.

Um... You realize Mild is Sp Attack +, Defense -, right? That's not a real good alternative to Modest.

Also now that I think about it, Psycho Cut > Zen Headbutt because of dat critical hit swag, so I'll be sticking with the former for my Mewtwo.

Why is Mild bad? I think Mega Mewtwo X would profit most out of being a mixed sweeper right?

Luckily Mega Mewtwo Y is still specialised in Special Attack.

Honestly, you want to wait til Pokebank to build your MMXs so that you can run BU, Taunt, Drain Punch, Zen Headbutt.

Where is that pokemon reveal?

Well with Mewtwo X being part fighting, I would think a nature like Mild that decreases how much its defense goes up would bite it in the arse if it's hit by like physical flying moves, which type-wise is super effective against fighting. Ghost, dark, and bug moves that are physical would prolly ruin a Mild Mewtwo X's day as well, since it's still part psychic.

As for Xtwo profiting the most out of being a mixed sweeper, depends on what the player's going for I guess. To me Aura Sphere is the only real major thing Xtwo loses if it's used as a physical sweeper and not a mixed one (since Aura Sphere is special).

For mixed sweepers though I usually go for a nature like hardy/docile/serious/bashful/quirky so that none of the stats like defense/sp def are hindered or one of the other attack stats or speed, but that's just me. My mixed sweeper Charizard X (hardy nature) happened to have Hidden Power Grass, on that note. :awesome:

Well yeah, of course they were gonna have a megaform that still specializes in sp attack. Still feel it's a missed opportunity though that they didn't make Mewtwo Y part fairy.

Honestly, you want to wait til Pokebank to build your MMXs so that you can run BU, Taunt, Drain Punch, Zen Headbutt.
As mentioned before, I would recommend sticking with Psycho Cut over replacing it with Zen Headbutt due to Psycho Cut's critical hit ratio. Plus it has a bit more PP and accuracy, according to serebii anyway. Hell yeah on Drain Punch though.

Also, for that rumored Pokemon fighting game that supposedly plays more like a traditional fighter (shows Blaziken and Lucario facing off in that one image), how do y'all feel Xtwo should be executed in the game, if it's in it? A boss, unlockable character, what?

So is running anything other than Mewtwonite on Mewtwo now straight-up suboptimal? As in, if you're not using the mega evos you're not using Mewtwo in a competitively viable fashion?

Mewtwo needs the speed buffs, so +Speed natures are a huge must, regardless of how high its offenses are.

10 more speed only helps him with outspeeding a few more. From what I heard, Life Orb still does more damage than Mewtwonite Y, and the lower defense basically makes him more easily KOed by things like U-turn or Aegislash Shadow Sneak. As a result, we'll still see regular Mewtwo being used. Plus I'm sure there are still other Mega Evolutions people would prefer using.

With that said, I'm hoping Mewtwo gets announced for Smash...

Thanks for the tip, I did soft reset until I caught a Modest, I had a Mild, but then thought nah I really like the stats of Modest that makes Mewtwo a special attacking monster.

Especially with his Mega form.

I wonder if Mega Mewtwo was a final smash, should they include them as version exclusives?

Bob confirmed for Smash.

Leaked: his Final Smash is everybody stopping the match and getting along, throwing their troubles and strife to the wind as a new era of understanding reigns over land, sea, and sky.

This is not the Roy thread. :mewtwopm:

Be assured, people want Roy. But wouldn't you rather see the Roy thread instead of asking in a Mewtwo thread?

Don't see why people lump the two togheter so much...

I'd rather have Ike again.

But I'd rather have Mewtwo most of all.

I decided to revamp my Mewtwo inputs a little...

Mewtwo

Mewtwo is a tall, floaty, and moderately heavy fighter, who utilizes an offensive balance between its physical attacks, and its PSI ability attacks. While Mewtwo may only be averagely fast while on the ground, it offers one of the best aerial attributes among any fighter.

Mega Mewtwo Y

When compared to its normal state, Mega Mewtwo Y is a smaller target, and it sacrifices its physical attack power to enhance the power of its PSI ability attacks. Mega Mewtwo Y is also much faster, being able to outrun everyone, except Sonic the Hedgehog. However, Mega Mewtwo Y is also much lighter, which makes it more vulnerable to being KO'd at low damage percentages, especially considering how floaty it is. Like with its normal state, Mega Mewtwo Y offers one of the best aerial attributes among any fighter.

No Mega X? )':

Your suggestions are pretty spot-on, though. So strange Mega Y becomes so much lighter/smaller compared to his original self.

Since you already did that much M&SG, I demand you do one for Xtwo as well. :glare:
:p

In b4 "but Ytwo is more likely/promoted/advertised!" which I don't really give a **** about.

Man, I really really wish Hover would actually be implemented by Sakurai. And acting out of Teleport. It kind of sucks knowing that it probably won't ever happen, and we need to look out for other potential things to buff Mewtwo with.

Also, Mega Mewtwo Y is best Mewtwo.

I knew the Red version would always end up being superiour. :smirk:

Think Mega Mewtwo Y would perfectly fit Mewtwo's Melee (PAL!!!!) weight. But would have much, much better offense. He's a real glasscanon, and how awesome that would be in Smash...

I don't think Mewtwo will go so far as to have two mega forms be used, so I just thought that Mega Mewtwo Y would be the best mega evolution option for it.

Yeah, I think that Mega Mewtwo Y would be the best option for a Final Smash, for a few reasons.
1. The Movie
2. It was the 1st Mega Evolution released to the public
3. It's cooler

4. It fits Mewtwo better (stat-wise)
5. Goku, Lucario needs his sworn enemy, Majin Newtwo Y.

It's also more useful cause Mega Mewtwo X has a ****ty movepool, and having Flying weakness is bad for the Uber metagame cause Lugia will love to Aeroblast you, and Ho-Oh will also **** him up pretty badly.

Mega Mewtwo Y was always my favorite anyway.

It doesn't help that Mewtwo still hasn't gotten Close Combat, as THAT would make Mega Mewtwo X much more useful. Superpower just does not cut it without Bulk Up or a White Herb.

I just realized that if Mewtwo returns, I can actually remove the "In Memoriam" link from my signature.

Mewtwo X has a ****ty movepool?.... What? It could use more different fighting moves to suit its type, sure (Close Combat for one), but other than that it's pretty solid. And to say it would get ***** by the likes of Lugia and Ho-oh? Sure, if you pretend Xtwo can't outspeed them like any normal Mewtwo and that it can't learn any good rock moves.

As it is though, Mewtwo X attacks them first with Stone Edge (high critical hit like Aeroblast) and that monstrous attack stat, ****ing them up more than Aeroblast ever would to Mewtwo X.

Preferring the Y form I can understand, but the amount of hate for the X form here is obvious, if not a bit ridiculous. Majin Mewtwo Y is cool, but Friezatwo X at least gives Lucario another sworn enemy in the fighting type department.

@ M&SG: That's fair enough, but would still like to hear the kind of input you'd give for Xtwo in Smash after reading what you put for the two other forms. Doesn't matter if Mewtwo doesn't get both megaforms in Sm4sh, would just like to see a sort of analysis you'd give on Xtwo as well. Ya don't have to, of course, but it would be nice! And I kinda disagree with what you said on Superpower not cutting it tbh, but to each their own. Drain Punch I know is something I'll want to give my Mewtwo in the future though. Possibly even replace Recover for it in favor of something that's actually another attack.

@Ridley_Prime: I guess in a way, Mega Mewtwo X would be the polar opposite of Mega Mewtwo Y. It would sacrifice its long range abilities to enhance the power of its physical attacks; the PSI abilities would be merged with the physical attacks. And while Mega Mewtwo Y would be light and fast, Mega Mewtwo X would be heavy and slow. One final note would be that Mega Mewtwo X is much less floaty than normal Mewtwo and Mega Mewtwo Y, but this also has a negative impact on its aerial efficiency; it falls faster, despite having the same aerial attributes as normal Mewtwo and Mega Mewtwo Y.

Mega Mewtwo X is amazing in ubers, lol. Ho-Oh can only check if SR isn't up (possible but not always certain) and even then, bulky variants have to rely on Sacred burns since BB won't OHKO after a BU. Lugiass only started using Aeroblast because of how amazing MMX is (and it helps with Mega Gengar somewhat but mostly MMX). MMY is cool but it's not the major offensive threat that MMX is in the Ubers metagame atm. (Talking Pokebank btw)

Also, Spermtwo is fugly.

How is Mega Mewtwo Y NOT a major offensive treath if his offenses are higher anyway? And he's faster than anything that isn't Deoxys Speed form?

He's weaker than LO Classictwo, basically a single point away from holding a Plate (that applies for every attacking type). The speed boost only has a practical application in avoiding speed ties with other Mewtwo and ballsy Mega Gengar. Bascially, the main appeal is to have an alternative Taunt + 3 attacks Classictwo that doesn't get worn down beating on walls and has a little extra spdef to tank those uninvested Judgments. It's a legit mon but it's more of a ClassicTwo variant than it's own threat. (which sucks cause it eats up your mega forme) MMX on the other hand is completely different and difficult to check with it's BU sets (Most common is BU, Taunt, STABs but you can drop Taunt for a third coverage move if you REALLY want to. There's few enough checks to the Taunt variant that running EQ or something can be a nasty surprise for guys like Aegislash.)

There's plenty 'mons that are faster than Mewtwo Y besides speed form Deoxys. lol So many assumptions here. Base stat-wise, Mewtwo gets an increase in speed from the Y form by only 10 points. Doesn't hold a candle to the 'mons that are usually faster than Mewtwo anyway. Mega Alakazam is faster than both Mewtwo megaforms for crying out loud.

Mega Alakazam, Mega Aerodactyl, Accelgor, and Ninjask outspeed Mega Mewtwo Y.

However, Mega Mewtwo Y usually holds its own against Accelgor and Mega Alakazam, seeing as they're typically reliant on special attacks. Without critical hits, they can only 2-hit KO Mega Mewtwo Y, at best, and Accelgor is easily slaughtered by Psystrike, while Mega Alakazam is usually 1-hit KO'd by Mega Mewtwo Y's Shadow Ball (if Mewtwo is given enough Special Attack investment that is).
