Sweet lucas. I really like your playstyle (from the marth vid). You have a nice game going, but towards the end of that first game, you started to play aggro in an attempt to get that kill, so look at it that way. What really makes my point is that you win by reverting to the campier playstyle at the end. Nice use of nair-tilts.

I'll watch the other games when I get a chance, I've got things and stuff to do now... But I'm looking forward to them.

I only watched the two Lucas videos.

You're playing way too agressively when you shouldn't be. Lucas is not an agressive character. You need to sit back a lot more especially against characters like Marth and Wolf. You have a way better projectile game than either of them and you need to take advantage of it. Start spamming PK Fires. The only times you should be playing agressively against characters such as these is when you notice they've made a critical error in spacing or lag. The only reason some of your agressive behaviour got through is because of errors on your opponents part.

Don't approach standing opponents with Fair. It's a dangerous move unless they're in the air. The hitbox is small and you're very unprotected. You're much better off with Nair or Bair although be careful with the former because of it's low priority. Full hopped Dairs can be nice for this on occasion too. Overall you need to spend a lot more time laying back and using PK Fires to keep them out of your area and then punish them when they fail to get into it with ftilts and jabs. Fsmashes are great for lag mistakes on their part and Dsmashes are great against roll spammers.

Don't try edgeguarding Wolf with Bairs. PKT1 works much better against him in almost every situation. Certain characters it's better to go for a spike and others PKT1 is just the smarter option. Learn what works best against each character.

As cool as some of Lucas's ATs are, for the most part they aren't wonderfully useful in combat. Your zap jumping and magnet pulling did absolutely nothing. It's the fault of your opponent for not punishing you for it.

Some of your dodges were pretty good just don't overdo it or your opponent will learn to read your dodge patterns (most notably the repeated spotdodging.) Your use of ftilt was good. It's a great move that is underused by a lot of people. Basically just learn to play slower and more patiently. Don't rush toward your opponent, wait for them to come to you. That's how Lucas plays.

There's a lot you can learn from watching videos of yourself playing. Go back and watch your videos. See what caused you not only to lose your stock but all the hits that lead you up to that lost stock. Notice the mistakes you could have avoided and the mistakes your opponent made that you could have capitalized on.

i feel comfortable being agressive with Lucas, but maybe i was too agressive because it was a friendly match, i have nothing to lose

i'll work in the fair part
i learn from hard way to not edgeguard wolf, it was my first time angainst a good wolf (other friend plays with wolf, bad is bad), he killed with his side B and told me "not bother Wolf when he's recovering" (that fight was not recorded)
again, i don't use magnet pull, it was just for fun, and maybe to confuse the opponent, not really good either. The Zap Jump, i use it for recovery, most of time versus people how like to spike, followed by PKT2 directly to the edge or the stage

btw, i was having some problems with the control, after some nair, i wanted to use a ftilt, but lucas came up with his side smash, also i wanted to ftilt, but instead i jab :S
and with toon link, i had to use a cube controller, and i use only the classic controller

Great Lucas, I loved the magnet pulls haha even though you said it was just for fun.

A couple of things. First of all, at low% a b-air and in some cases f-air will put you at a frame disadvantage unless you fast fall it almost perfectly, allowing your opponent to quickly smash or tilt you. Second of all edgeguard the **** out of wolf, it can be dangerous but get over it.

OMG. APC. Look at 0:27. Perfect chance for jab lock! (after bair) If it was me I would be very mad. :laugh:

4:05 jab lock won't work here, dair won't spike him to the ground at 60%. The best thing you can do after that dair is fastfall -> aaa combo

MAO is the best player from our crew, and it was my first time versus a ganondorf, usually i don't know how to fight angaist new rivals. I fight a lot versus Pits, Ike, Marth and Lucas, and for me is really easy to fight them because i know their combos, attacks, killing moves, but vs ganondorf, i didn't know how strong was he (if you speak spanish, you'll see in the video what i mean XD)

i didn't remember i can jab lock after a bair, i watched all your videos, but i didn't remember that
and at 4:05, it would be a perfect jab lock if pikachu had more %, anyways i think it was a good attempt

You're letting Pikachu get way too close you to. Use more Ftilts rather than Fsmashes to keep him away. Some more jabs would have helped you there too. Using fair on grounded opponents is still costing you some unnecesary damage. Learn how to DI out of Pikachu's Dsmash. If I remember right you should be able to get out by holding up on the analog and rapidly smash DIing up with the c-stick. This'll save you a ton of damage and give some opportunities to punish lag. When your opponent has lag after an attack use an Fsmash or Dsmash rather than grabbing. Lucas's throws really aren't that good except for racking up a little damage at very low percentage.

i'm working on that
i know how to DI pikachu's dsmash, but i sometimes i don't do that, because pikachus usually use Thunder after dsmash, that means easy recover % for Lucas

Only two things bothered me about that last game posted.

1. Your PKTs aren't going in as tight of curves as possible, and therefore bug my OCD side (which is virtually non-existant, lol)

2. You get two PKT2's off aggressively. That shouldn't ever happen.

I like your Nair and Jab use, as well as zoning with the PK fire.

My only real bother with the videos was the lack utilt. It's SO good. It hits twice, has high priority (because of it's range) You had several opportunities in the vs. Marth match (which I know you weren't taking -too- seriously) but I still didn't see any...a couple times I saw you go for an f-tilt (but smashed on accident or whichever) but I was sitting here screaming utilt. >_>;

Also, enemies don't expect it because of how quick it is vs. how SLOW your usmash is.

i DO use utilt, specially nair to utilt, watch the fight vs metaknight, i use utilt, but some of them didn't hit, because i hit with the last hit of nair. Nair to ftilt or fsmash is also good, specially for high %

Isn't holding d-smash against a recovering MK generally a bad idea? They could counter with shuttle loop. I'm counting on my Lucas to crush MKs at a tournament tomorrow.

it if good if they are trying to grab the ledge with jumps. I think that attack is safe, because the upB can hit you, and you can stay a little away from the ledge and the dsmash will hit anyways
