Grrreat. What does everyone think of the "participate in more than one tourney, save 5 on singles" idea I have listed? I figure it might get some more people to play doubles..?

i hope this tourny gets a lot of hype the closer it gets.

i want to come but i'm not gonna come if it's not gonna be pretty big. but if it is big i'll likely be there with some other so calians ^^

Well it sounds like if alot of WA comes, socal might come :-D

Earlybird is basically what I'm picturing as an earlier tourney, incase anyone stays the night, or just shows up early. I figure it'll just be a smaller tourney, but it's a way for people that don't want to double to get the $5 off deal,or can't stay late because of work to come and smash it up.

well i could make it earlier..but i figure even 11 isn't going to have that great of a turn out. Which honestly I think a smaller earlier one would be good. Should I do earlier?

Argh. See...that's why i was asking all the q's in the OSM forum about it. You can pm me if you have issues but as of right now I'm keeping this date. Maybe you could do Smash the State Sunday and maybe if SoCal came up they could hit that up on there way home? More reason for them to come right - two tourneys, one trip?...

OooO..plus WA could head down there the second day. Eh?

I've been planning this for the last weekend of January because that's the weekend of my birthday.
I guess if you want to have two tournaments on the same weekend, there's nothing stopping you, it might just make things confusing. I was hoping to have mine fri/sat and whatever friendlies or anything we needed to finish on sunday.

Discussing the date ahead of time in OSM before making the thread would have been a more organized move to make. t0mmy's been talking to NorCal for a while trying to plan a tournament spcifically for them. >_>

Well the first 4 days this tournament was announced, I did ask if the day seemed ok for everyone, but you're right, I probably should have announced it in the OSM first.

I wanted to announce it early because last time around I got some criticism (smash twins included) about the fact that it was announced less than a month in advanced, plus I have seen some people say that the next SF:E would be a 'cross there fingers' situation at this point with the day off.

Anyways, I think its bad for the Smash community to have both on the same weekend, so I'll go ahead and change the date on mine. So if I could get a vote:

TFB: SuFI
01/19/2008 -or- 02/02/2008?
